Wow! The second one is great. I guess you know about the background and the hair ... it's not finished, right?

I just wanted to say thanks ... this reminds me that I shouldn't stop working on a picture if it doesn't look right somehow. I never really try to fix it.

hehe Matthew.. thanks dude. man.. you made me watch strongbad again Smile

andyT, thanks. yep its not finito yet. this is a new technique for me.. not working with layers but instead all on the background.. sort of like traditional style (except for the 'undo'.. i wish there was undo in real life!)

so here is another update.. hopefully it looks more like her now
btw, i got like 3 replies in another forum that she has eyes of an old woman.. do you guys see that?? i donno

About the first version or a more recent one?
Because the eyes look blurry in the first version she doesn't exactly look like a healthy young woman. But with the sharp edges and highlights in the others I don't think so. No need to fix something there IMHO.

It's the lines/color just below the eyes that creates the old woman effect. And I think the eyes might be a little small, too (not that I've seen a photo of her recently). Overall, I really like it.

Don't worry. It's still great. But now I'm not sure about that highlight triangle under her right eye. Now I think it looks strange somehow!?

Although you're doing a good job.. and though I haven't seen the reference.. from what I'm seeing and from my knowledge dealing with facial features... I don't believe the two sides of the face fit with each other - meaning one seems to have a wrong angle. I'm not certain which it is.. at first I had the feeling that it was the left side (our right side) of her face.. I felt that the eye would need to be angled upward a bit more .. while the corner of the lip seems to need being pushed downward a bit - Though it may be the opposite side that needs these adjusments (the eye downward, the lip more upward) .. or perhaps the cheeks arent exactly right

Eh Confused like I said.. I can't be exact without knowing what ref you used.. but I hope I helped a little bit if at all.. it looks great so far otherwise:)
