Mmmm, Luis, it reminds me of Craig's poster for Myth II. It is nearly the same pose of everyone there...
And too redish for my tastes

jee not everyone is ripping of Craig just because Craig does it... and it's not like Craig did it first either.

Very nice work, 40 hours of work definatley shows here, the only thing I can say is the big scary guy looks a little un energetic about this fight.

I would like to see that poster. I'll try to look for it. Should be interesting since I've never seen it. The painting was done 90% from my head. Thanks for the insight.
I do think he could have looked more dynamic aswell. Its a drawing issue. Always a drawing issue. Smile

I think this kind of depiction of heroic battle goes back a few hundred years before Mr. Mullins. If this reminds me of anyone, it's the crazy battle paintings of Chris Achileos...but why even bring it up - this entire board and all others like it are genre art - the whole point is we all like working inside the same themes - we LIKE the fact the work is about the same subjects all the time - if we didn't we'd go to the floral and kitty cat painting forum!...

Good work, shows attention to detail - i personally think it needs more contrast - I don't mind the monochrome, just the washyness - and would take a look at the tangent created by the horned helmet and the big axe...I might want to take the axe back further above his head - but that's no small order if this is RL media....

but better than I could do in oils so Kudos Mr.D.

Some good comments.
Things I had in back of my mind, but didn't work to fix. Once again a drawing compositional issue, but I'm really glad to hear them because I'm psyched to get started on my next painting. This is the first time I worked on a painting mostly mono. Thanks for the crit. Smile
