hamsteralliance: better technology doesn't necessarily make it a better song, to stick to your example. but that doesn't make the whole thing pointless. remake. i guess that's a fitting term. bad example from me: the remake of planet of the apes was not a better movie than the old version, although technically it was far superior. better technology is a justification to do new versions, and i never said anything against that.

in my previous post i wasn't referring to the technical evolution of matrix compared to older movies. i was talking about the ideas and questions the books deal with. i meant the story and background of the movie being a simplified mix of the books, not a further developed version. story. not technology.

one more thing: event horizon, sphere... - these are all bad solaris rip-offs.

Tomorrow on the Superbowl there will be a spot for matrix reloaded. There will be new imagery, I only guess that cause one of my shots will be there, and I just finished it. It will last 4 frames. That's, uh, 1/6 sec? I think the whole spot is made of these very short cuts, or maybe they thought my shot blew chunkies and the rest of the footage will be above the threshold of perception.

So if you are interested, set the VCR. tween the first and second quarters.

Of course we have american MADE commercials... do you really think that all those dental commercials where the woman is moving her mouth according to the voice in her head are made in Sweden? no, she's just moving her lips in a very homogenous fashion which is then over-dubbed to just about every language in europe.

Same with american commercials (as your example the vanilla coke commercial). But the pointless bit is: It would make no sense to have a commercial about skittles of milk-duds on swedish tv BECAUSE THE PRODUCT IS NOT SOLD IN SWEDEN.

and url: are you sure the superbowl is on channel five? you may very well be right, but it's definately not the channel I would've thought would do it then =)

Strata: no clue if the superbowl is on kanal 5, no swedish tv guide here. But it is on sbs 6 and sbs also owns that kanal 5 in sweden so it might be on that channel too.

Matthew, no that was not it. That BG was done by Roger Gibbon, a pal from square who is working on matrix.

If you have seen it on my site, that is not it. Security is so tight I cannot have my painting machine connected to the internet. Hardware firewalls, Phhfft. I little overkill, but better to err on that side. I did see three geeky guys loitering around the street near my house last week on trash day, so you never know.

The one I did was not 4 frames, it got cut to one frame. If you DL the trailer, it was the shot of the hovership landing with the blue sparklies coming out of the chun li ear shaped things.
