weird question, do you think having a lip ring would be a health risk while playing basketball?

Any jewelry is a risk while playing any contact sport. (A lip ring!?)

A friend of mine played highschool ball with a lip ring and missed a pass which ended up smacking him clean in the face. The ring popped open inside of his lip and drove straight down, the problem was that the ring got bent as well. Havn't seen that much blood in a while and we wont even get into how bad the bruising was after.

I say you get it done in the off season to let the hole become a little more permanant, then during games just take it out. It just isnt worth the risks man.

ehh, i was just curious. at this rate, i might be playing in college. can you take those things out even? i thought you had to leave them in.
