hahahaha ChiaNi that's funny, interesting I dont remember seeing many of those such as Hunter etc.. * going back the thread * ..

reakshun * that is cool, as for the filter I' wouldnt use one if it doesnt add anything, but for a quick paper texture or something of that effect I dont think that's cheating, depend what you use, with Painter I think filters are pretty useless, but in Photoshop to get a quick paper texture or something maybe? otherwise it's nice to be able to see your strokes and such

hohoho have a good holiday everyone

Chiani: When doing all those portraits - do u use a digi-camera and make the picture as a layer in photoshop and paint-over? Or do use a mirror - or a paper-photography to draw from?

Chiani: bye! see you soon! Well, a painting of you at least. Wink

Lionel: you're out? Damn...have fun! No more digital? Must be going for good ol' analog practice. (trust me, don't be surprised if you see a scan of an oil or acrylic from me sometime very soon)

zhuzhu: of course I'll be posting more! I have alot catching up to do with you all. Man, I wish I could load your webpage but, it doesn't want to perform for me. Crying or Very sad

Fab: I hear you on the filter...it's funny you mentioned the paper texture, because I used that at first (sandstone/Photoshop 7)...but I never used this one(which I can't remember) so I gave it a try. By the way, I like those trees on your page...very painterly and fantasy like.

say bye to all. have a happy Christmas receive lot gift.

JesperGB: I been painting and drawing on traditional media for long time. I requird myself don't use eriser don't tracing to train myself be a what I see and what I paint.

all the self potrait here you see were from photo at begin. then I saw every body paint from mirrow. Then I change to mirrow. Because from mirrow more challenge.

No I do not tracing. That not my way to paint. But I use refrence a lot.\

now I paint with computer and mouse. now I use eriser. Because mouse still not easy to control. I promiss not use eriser when I get back. Smile

Zipp: what size is your brush and at what opasity do you set it on?

Try using brushes with loaded oils/small fine washes. Low opasity layers for translucent shadows. Increase opasity as light intensifies. Try not to use the palette knife!

Gotta project I'm working on...I'll try to post an example soon. Wink
