I know I'm not the only one around here who sells photoprints printed by www.photoaccess.com . Until now, they were the best of the online photoprocessing companies--but they've just raised most of their print prices by around a dollar, and tacked sixty cents onto their shipping prices! Worst of all, they didn't bother informing their customers that this change was coming. I, for one, lose by this--I had a bunch of eBay auctions up, based on the assumption that they were using their old prices. So, if people buy the prints at the minimum bid prices, and pay the OLD shipping rate, I make much less profit than usual.

I think they're hoping people won't notice the price-hike by not mentioning it to their customers, but I think it's completely unprofessional of them to do it this way. There's no announcement anywhere on their site, and their FAQ still lists their old shipping prices (although they did update their print prices).

Anyone who uses Photoaccess, and who is not impressed with the price-hike, should take the time to write them a letter of complaint about their inconsiderate behaviour.

I've only been using them for a couple weeks, based on one of your posts over at Epilogue, so I hadn't noticed a change . . . I've been pretty happy with the quality, but I may end up moving over to someplace that does giclee prints . . . I don't know that the photo look suits all of my stuff.

If you find a good place for giclee prints, let me know...I don't feel like paying these inflated prices for glorified photographs.

If they are still advertising their original rates, then legally they absolutely must abide by them. You should not have to pay the new price.

This is their (extremely pathetic) excuse for not warning their customers:

"In reality, the practical means of doing that are simply not available. Sending out a mass email notification would have been one option, but not all of our customers have enabled the choice to receive email from PhotoAccess. There is not an easy technical means of posting a notice regarding these changes on the website."

Uh-huh...yeah...sure. If their webmaster seriously can't post a little "Attention! Click here to see the changes to our price structure!" button on their frontpage...despite the fact that he apparently CAN put up little advertisements whenever they come up with a new product...he needs to be fired.

Hah... yah those guys are retarded. Sending out a mass email is an option...lol ....they could have at least sent it and have some users recieve it instead of none .. but there should have been some lag time before changes took place or something.

bloody bastards!
