Ok So I haven't been around are for ages. Its good be be here. I finally got a new wacom on Saturday. Here is my drawing to christen it.

(Its for a project I can't mention just yet)

Hope you like it. I know its floored but I still hope you like it.

I think his left hand and how it holds the sword is not correct, it looks really odd.

Is it Boromir?

The front sword looks very "flat", like paper. or it might just be the angle ?
Other then that, looks great. He really looks pissed off at who ever shoot him in the back

Edit: Something I noticed. If this guy isnt on some magic berserker shrooms, those arrows would prob kill him. They are loged pretty deep.

looks like metal armour he's wearing... those gotta be pretty strong fast arrows to puncture armour.

man i think its awesome, the proportions are great, i love the dried blood effect on the swords and his face is really detailed, great work!

I think its great, the eyes are really angry looking, his whole pose is great!
Just the arrows and the front sword that needs to be fixed, thats all

Hi Guys,

I was being light hearted when I said everyone hates it. (I didnt cry (honest))I was just kidding.

I put the picture up because I value all your opinions and I need feedback. I am very greatful for any crits I am given.

Thats why I post and thats how we improve. I am working on correcting the things that have been pointed out.

I think the lighting should be more contrasted. It needs highlights. Think of wet skin - he can be sweated. Look like on the Body Building competitions the bodies shine, the highlights on the skin. Try to do the same. The metal... the boundaries between the highlight and shade should be more dark and the highlight should be brighter. Also think about where the light source is. Cause if it is 3/4 from top, the right side of his face ( his - left )should be in shade, if not the whole face, than at least the eye and chick. If there are two light sources, think about varying them whith colour.

dude... nobody said they hate it.. they are just pointing out areas that need improvement.. they are trying to help you make a better picture..

Over all its a good piece fo work.. a good effort. but it still needs improvement.

Hhmm, well I like it. I like the action here...it is as though he just got nailed by three archers at once...and is about to keel over. I think less blood, and it splattering out a little (as to opposed to running down the armor) might enhance that affect. You know death IRL is not like "death" in a video game...it takes a person a while to die. He could still well come around and cleave somebody in twain...then fall over and gargle, quiver, and vomit for 10 minutes in agony before expiring. I dunno, the colors and the lighting I like...he appears to be a Norse warrior (or similar) in his environment. The swords do appear to be parallel to the plane of the image, while his hands are positioned to hold them at angles to the plane of the image. I think it would be more effective if the sword in his left hand "tapered perspectively" (if you will) into the image, and the sword in his right came outward...it doesn't have to be much, but I think it could work well.

Just my $.02...that and 10 spot might get you a cafe mocha these daze. Anyway, keep it up!
