hi guys, I'm not an artist, just someone who loves art and appreciate your works since a long time.
It's time for me to ask you all your opinion on this pic : a celtic dragon which will probably soon takes breath on my skin... But...I'm not completely satisfied about the drawing... would like some color (red) in the body or just a touch of something more 'female', dunno what exactly.
Well well well, sorry for my broken english, I will stop here.
Hope some of you could take some time to make his own adaptation of the pic, if you have nothing more exciting to do !
thanks again and anyway, 'bravo' for all I have seen here.
stef.

if you use the image tags, you need to link directly to the image. so, assuming that host allows you to link to images:
if not, http://membres.lycos.fr/besensitive/ |

Hi Stef...and thanks to Affected for getting the image posted up. Hmm, I really like the design overall. I would prefer the dragon to have a slightly larger head...and some color would be nice, yes. Give me a couple of days, here. I will play around with it, and post back up here with it.
*later...the next morning...*
...okay, a little sooner than expected. Coupla's things, since this is for a tattoo, it might be a little difficult...and I figure your skin probably isn't green, so the colors will look a little different. You may to try to approximate your skin color and fill that in for the BG. Just my thoughts, on that. As well, did you draw this? If not, do you know who did? Just curious

Hello earth
Thanx for the drawing, I like it even if i agree with you in saying it would be quite hard to do it on my skin.
Sorry to be so quick but for your question : I don't know who had made it (not me !) I 'va found a pic of this tattoo and i just retrace the dragon in photoshop.
I'll gonna make some trials of coclorization and post it here maybe, to let u know the definitely look before beeing tattooed !
bybye c u !

uhmmm... there's no such thing as celtic dragons, since celts did not have dragons in their mythology... However, guess what u meant was "tribal", right?
One important thing to consider when designing a tattoo is where on your body it should be placed. Any idea about that yet?
I like the design, but the claws look somehow "reversed", don't they? |

then again...
To ease your curiosity about where the hell will take place the tattoo : how to explain in english...hmm the bottom start on my arm and the head of the dragon will take place up my breast (i'm a she )
Anyway, this is surely a tribal tattoo, not a celtic one. All apologizes ! But i like the celtic style though

Well, nothing would prevent him to use the celtic style; stuff like key patterns, knotworks, spirals and "entrelacs" to depict a dragon. Irish, IIRC, dont have legends about dragons, but their neighbours do : the prophetic fight between the white dragon and the red dragon (the english and the welsh IIRC again).
Anyway, this dragon there is in what is nowadays qualified as "tribal style".
My feeling is that there isnt a lot of details, but then again, when you do a tattoo, you cant really put that much details, unless you make a *really big* tattoo. So I guess if this one is real size, it would be OK.
If you like nice dragons, may I suggest you look for the Dragon Clan in a game called Legend of the Five Rings (ou bien Legende des cinq anneaux, puisque le jeu existe aussi en francais).
The "mon" of the Dragon Clan is particularly cool looking, and very appropriate IMO for a tattoo (in fact, I wanna get the scorpio clan tattooed, myself )
Where would you tattoo this dragon, by the way ?
