Nice stuff. I like the first one most.

It might be a cool idea to have some sort of cold light shining from under and in front of the character.

I love the B/W sketch and the rough style. It might add stronger impact if the amount of B/W is adjusted a little bit. The picture seems to have equal amount (roughly) of black and white.

Great colors.

wow looks like you don't do much beside drawing and everything looks great! I like the second one most because the first is missing a little depth in the face maybe the extra cold light would fix that.

Sorry for my bad English but I'm very tired at the moment.

oh I nearly forgot: Do you earn money with that kind of work? I would love to be paid for such pics but I don't think that there are many jobs like that in Germany!?

Very nice, you work make me think about Justin Sweet's artwork in style (and it is a compliment!). Good balance of black and white too.

Wow! The paintings are impressive, but that b/w is absolutely stunning. You, sir, are the master of black&white!

Tasty...

Just a few thoughts,

You certainly have a nice palette, albeit somewhat limited perhaps?

You also seem to have a good understanding of anatomy, but only on the upper parts of the body. I think I have yet to notice anything containing feet.

But what you do, you do well. Good luck on your studies.

Thanks,

Thanks for the comments

Superfish- Cold light would have made a nice touch. I wanted to give the impression
he was surrounded by flames, why I kept it pretty much warm, but some cold reflections from something maybe.

Nil - freelance work mostly.

Nobstrand - well here's some scans still lurking on my hd (which have already passed through here) showing leg work as well as raw sketching style. Whether they're on your level of acceptance or not.

How about we see some of your raw sketch work? Unless you just prefer to talk of course

Don't take this as I'm saying I don't need to work on anatomy skills, far from it. I intend to continue working on all aspects of anatomy (not just legs). I've worked hard to learn what I have and think I've come a long way this last couple of years. People that remember my work from back then will probably tell you that. I suggest you do the same.

To be honest I find your attitude arrogant and rude, and your comments to come across as digs rather than giving any genuine critique, whether you are aware of that or not. And I'm talking in general, not just now.

And I suggest you keep that luck for your own studies, your going to need all you can get

Had a few people asking me how I go about mking the bw's in ps, so I wanted to put some insteps together.

1. Start with a rough line sketch.

2. Quickly block in the shadows, keeping in mind to create a good balance of black and white.

3. Begin to carve and define your shapes, as this is digital you use both the black and white to do this.

4. Add the rendering and final details.

Hope that was of some help.
Cheers

Extraordinary, like always. Hmm, your B&W technique is difficult to master if you dun have no wacom tablet, but it's definitively interesting.

Awesome work Cos, I'm really liking these b&w pics you've been doing recently. One of the cool things is that b&w is enough to convey the scene and yet holds back enough to make the viewer use their imagination for the dark areas.

Keep up the good work!

the rough drawings are the work of a genious . What did you use just pencil on paper?
Your recent ones even look better than the work of vebjorn ( also I haven't seen pics of him in a long time).

Damn nice Cos! You get better and better every day...uh..I guess that's the goal eh? Thanks for the steps, always love to see how peeps do their stuff. I actually like step 3 the best, tells the story...done for me. (Probably because I'm tryin' to stop myself on my own work before I kill it - which I seem to do a lot).
Do you have steps for the color pieces too?

Nice man. Cheers for that.

Been wanting to try this out for a while now though I really need PS in order to really get flowing with some quick pieces. I suppose I can grab me some ink pens with variating nib widths. Maybe.

Hey reply to my email.... u so lazy. Boyee.

Aiight.

No offense intended, I just re-read and saw the typo indicating that I meant you COULDN'T do anything but upper anatomy, which was not my intention at all. Sorry about that, I can see it was annoying.

I'm currently going through "Human Anatomy for the artists" from start to finish myself, so anatomy is alot on my mind these days. It is clearly a focus of yours as well.

meaning it is obvious in most pictures I've seen you do that your anatomy studies are the result of a conscious effort. Instead of "wow"ing you on though, I wanted to be constructive, and what I meant to point out was that I rarely saw any leg work from your scribbles and studies, and that you might be shying away from it. Even on the sketches you post above, there is a definite lack of feet. Therefore, I nag

I'd say you do your things much much better than I do mine, and I'm not trying to compete. I know I might sound annoying from time to time, but I usually mean well.

Good luck to us all on all of our studies. Nice sketches, by the way (they always are, haven't you figured that out already?)

Thanks,
