Great as usual, Roundeye. However, i sense something mongoloid about the left eye. Very subtle, could be just me. Nice colours.

its the nose and the length of the face that makes his face looks stretched. Great pic still round eye

Comments made without seeing photo.

That out of the way

Bad: Ear seems low. Left cheek (not the one you sit one) is sunken. And Left eye seems to be looking the wrong way.

Good: Colors!! Nice contrast and color theme. Mood! The look on the face has real character. You picked a good photo.

Other than those 3 things above, its perfect. Sorry, its much easier to point out what you did wrong than what you did right I'd like to see the photo btw, to see if my comments were somewhat close to being right.

Later,
Brian

heres the photo. it was a really odd photo cuz of the slant of the eyes, while the mouth seemed straight on. he already said the likeness is off but he does seem to like it. accurate portraits have allways been really hard for me.

edit: i moved the ear up a bit.

Very good piece using a photo reference. Good call on the ear. Really like the palette you used. Excellent!

Nice piece roundeye.

I used to look a lot like that, but that was back in 1987. Have you youngsters not thought up your own fashions yet?

[edit] Might be nice to emphasize the eye makeup a bit more?

Sehr schne Arbeit.

Sorry, wrong language...
Beautifull work. I like the red strokes, kind of vibrating, but the red troke over the left eye lightens up the shadow too much. Thats probably what snorkles wanted to say with mongoloid. Hope Ill see some more of your worke soon.

In the photo, the right eye is actually more hidden by the nose than what you've painted. That's what seemed strage to me.

Great to take a look at a different type of art done by you but i like your usual style a very little bit better. Anyway these colours are amazing!

Whoa, that is VERY well done roundeye. You have a way of adding tons of life the references you're painting. Like Phil, I totally love the palette.

This isn't meant to sound insulting in the least towards Gehin, but ... Gehin is a guy?
