Is it a requirement that to be an artist you have to be an egocentric prick?

Apart from Faustgfx I think you should all pull your heads out your arses and smell the real world. New guy says hello and you all erupt into hating tactics straight away. And I know I know not everyone does this I'm just saying general.

And don't bother attacking me personally for this one, coz I'm not really bothered by anything you munchkins say. I mean I can't believe most of you survive in the real world if you act like that to everyone.

I do believe some people could've acted a little nicer in this thread, but replying to something like that by being even less nice... well... is that really going to help anyone?

Maybe you�ll notice what I mean with civilized if you read my post and then yours. I maybe wasn�t friendly, but look at your reply.

I don�t mind it, surely I�m upset, but you just replied in a normal human reaction.

@Red Leader: I really thought this forum will become a good place again, but this posts and all the reactions show me why Frost and Snake opened up Lumental. I won�t ever change my opinion about the way they did it, but I think if this place doesn�t change very fast into something better, my opinion will change about the usefullnes of this place.
btw. it�s a bad week here? it will settle down soon? Have you talked to dhabih yet, or what?

@Enayla: Do you think I really overreacted SOO much with the first reply I wrote?

P.S: After posting my reply yesterday, I said to a friend on icq: "It looks like I�ll become the new forum-asshole". How right I was.

gLitterbug: Naw, not really. You have to take into consideration that while we might want to be a bit stricter about some things... we really should try to be nicer to the new members. He couldn't have known about all the crap that's been going on here lately, and I can understand that he was a bit upset by what you said.

You could've been nicer, but I understand that you weren't. I've not been in the best of moods lately, either. Reading through your post, it's not that bad - I just thought it was the combination of your post, and the other posts, that turned the thread into something nasty. If we want to make this forum a nicer place to be - I think we could start by trying to be nicer to one another.

Oh boy... that sounds so hippie...

I demand from people to read the forum for at least some time before they register. I�ve read that forum for a VERY long time before I thought I�m worthy to register. (I read it from not long after the beginning of it).

Yeah well thats good and all. I did say not everyone, and hey I know I'm a dickhead as well. I might attack people for reasons other people find stupid (eg Happy Man) but I don't normally flame a random new person...I think. But hey as long as gLitterbug said that new stuff...I'm down with it all and will now shut up.

C'mon guys. It's just a friendly new guy saying hi. Let's not let the recent paranoia and frustration affect the way we treat new members, ok? Taking our pent-up anger on him is kinda wrong.

We have to show the new guys that even though we are trying to be more strict here, we are STILL a bunch of friendly, fun-loving, art-loving people.

my advice you is this.. sit and learn for a while. this forum has had alot of people come recently who have posted bad artwork and demaded too much from other forum goers.. so please learn all you can then post your art when you feel that you are happy with it, in the finished Gallery, or when you really really need help, post in the work in progress. In the mean time get to know us.. chat with us, offer advice on other artwork and be constructive to this comunity.

we always welcome honest and sincere people, but resond very badly to peopel who just come to disrupt.

Its like being in high school again. Having that awkward feeling the first day of school, then getting the nerve up to say hello... only to be ignored or something.
Kind of makes someone feel like thier in the geek seat!

Man! I've been a registered member here since October 99 (under RobT) and have been lurking even longer and I can honestly say that people have lost their minds! (sometimes I've lost it a few times

Maybe this is why Lumental was created?

There are more civilized ways to get your message out. It's pretty sad that Dhabi doesn't even want to visit here anymore. I have a strong feeling that he totally doesn't dig this place. I wouldn't be suprised if he shut it down.

gLitterbug I totally undestand where you're coming from. I have been disgusted at the way this forum has changed but maybe we should give the newbies a chance before we judge them.
