Hey everyone,

Here's my latest......

This painting features the German swimsuit model Sanja.
All of the gear worn by Sanja in this piece was added using various references of Army clothing and equipment from the Vietnam War era, circa 1962-1969. The helmet was a pain because I had to wing the perspective on it due to the fact that non of the references I had for the helmet were from the angle I wanted, but I think it came out ok non the less. I had originally planed for her to be leaning up against the side of a tank, but after spending like 4-5 hours on painting the tank in the background, I realized that it was going to take me at least another 35-40 hours just to paint the tank and I was too pressed for time to commit another 40 some-odd hours to this painting. So, I decided to go with the flag in the background instead (which still took about 10 hours).
The tank would have been more appropriate for the piece in my opinion, but I think the flag makes a good substitute and provides a pleasant contrast against the muted colors of her outfit.

Anyway, on with the show....

Clean! She is so clean! I guess thats would be the only negative(?) comment... Superb job! Are you using a photo as a reference?

Love your stuff as always.

The flag is essential. I don't think she would look nearly as cool against a tank. Good call there -- can be used in many ways now. ^_^

Great! The only thing that disturbs me a little is the transition between pelvis and back. Shouldn't it look a little more like this (no, NOT the smiley
