some new color works and a B&W I did recently. trying things at the moment. no story for these images... except, the BW is a return to my roots, french comic books.

edit : sorry about the subject header, I just realised it sounds a bit kinky

I really like the brush strokes of the colored pictures. Has a very Rockwell/Sargent feel to them. No crits, but thanks for sharing.

Cool stuff! Colours are really nice. The painterly look is pretty effective. I really like the forms. You have some great drawing skills! Keep it up!

Beet, those are great - do you have any comic stuff from your old days? I would love to see that.

Did you have reference for the woman?

Wow, been a while since you posted anything. These are gorgeous. *drools*

Looks like you love the palette knife in Painter as much as I do.

ooh, lots of replies. thanks for the nice commments, ppl ;
One thing strikes me, most people dig that Oldmen image; I wasn't going to post it because I wasn't happy with it. I only did so,because a friend told me to. It's happening so often, I'm not going to try to understand. A nice surprise, in that case, though.

James Bradford: I like them both. I first learned about Sargent on this forum, actually( old spooge thread ). Thanks!
[666]Flat: projecting your fantasy on this very image, Bravo, you got imagination
Ornicar: merci. hope your website will be up soon. keep on posting here.
Gimbal8: Don't spend too much time on envy, transform it into inspiration to work on your own stuff, that's way better. thanks !
Jr: Yeah, I worked on many cards games -never on Magic, though.
Egerie: Merci. I did use photos as ref for the colored one, none for the BW. Only solution while working on a computer. The trick would be to work from life, in parallel to this.
Francis: glad to see you're back at posting. Oh, What I meant is, I read my share of them comicbooks as a kid ( I wasn't that much into velasquez and co, then), but I haven't actually worked on any (so far). sorry, nothing to show ya. Reference : yeah, my own photo. I Hope to move soon to live painting, actually.
Lunatique: Err, I only discovered the palette knife last week, these must be the only two images I ever used it, as an experimentation
