Okay, So I just got my WACOM pad yesterday, and ever since I've been getting quite attached to it. After a lot of doodling I finally did my first portrait, or an actual drawing.
Well as you see, the hair thing I haven't gotten a hang of yet. I've got a hard enought time drawig it even with a pencil so .. um ... yah... I guess I should have done a picture where the hair is like that anyways-huh?
here's my second one that I haen't quite finnished yet. I spent quite a bit more time on this one Leme know what you think of that one too...
well as far as that goes let me know where and how to improve what and when ... |

The first one is a good start. I am not good at drawing portraits, but I heard from some people, that you should keep your forms together. I would completely overpaint the background with a darker tone, AT the moment it distracts from the girl. Get your brush a little rest. Use larger strokes and clearer forms. Don't try too much texture or detail. Concentrate on important areas like: eye, nose, lips. Clean up some important edges like where the jacket meets the skin. Add some darker values for the shadows. Keep the colors.
I wouldn't have posted the other two images. They give me the impression you already gave up. |

Well first I just want to appologize for puting this post into finished work.
Yes I did give up on the last two pics, but that was for personal reasons.
The other image I did work on still. I find it's much smoother. The hair still needs to get done and I need to figure out a way to get the weater to look more natural.
Othervise I think I'm getting the had of this WACOM pad ...
anyways - thanks for the input sofar .... |
