I did this in painter7 and I am ok with it, but I would appreciate your Comments before I send it to an off-set to be printed out.

Whoa.. thats certainly a bold use of colors..

my only crit is that the eyes dont match, and some of the motion under the chin is a bit distracting because of the major size difference betwen the small and large strokes in that area.

Awetopsy , when u say "the eyes dont match", you mean the size or the looking direction? and the small strokes under the chin was suposed to be my beard(I haven't shaved for a week )Thanks a lot for your feedback!

eyewoo, you mean that I should add more color variations in the hair? or make it more detailed? thank you for your comment!

ARTEmio... definitely more color variations in the hair... The tossled hair is perfect subject matter for using the same style used on the skin of your face... but, as is, it's handled quite normally...

I don't mind the difference in the eyes. I actually think it adds to the style... adds a sort of dual personality to the portrait.

Nice work...

I have a couple of comments.

I think you should make the background more complete and the wonderful style of color painting you've used to do the face is not continued in the hair. The Hair and face are two different styles...

I would say this is a very good start, but it needs more work...

wowowow.. i envy your courage to use such bold rich colours ! thats dope.. i really love that style.. my only crit is probably that the left side of his face is all one colour ? the orange bit.. and the right side top and bottom contain the bold colours.. and i know thats meant to be a beard but that kinda bugs me too
but apart from that i really like it.. keep it updated id like to see more

Kari Christensen, its a selfportrait, I will have it printed out on a professional off-set to hang it on my wall. maybe later I will put that on oil or acrilic on canvas.

I'm with zietzeuge... I like the first eye treatment better. This is a rough and tumble style. The danger in continuing to work on it is that you move away from the rough and tumble.

Re: the hair... better, but let go with it... just like you have in the face.

It is looking quite interesting indeed. I applaud your looseness.

hm. I agree that the first version's eye is better, and the second version's hair just needs a bit more fluidity, as eyewoo stated.

Now, I actually first noticed how your nose seems to be somewhat angled opposite the direction of the rest of the face. The nose seems to bulge out with color in a way that makes it seem to angle at us, unlike the face angled to the left of us. I thnk it should help pull together the face and help the overall composition.

I wish you well.

-Mike
