As you can see, the lineart of this picture is done by Patrick Shettleworth (yes, the guy from PolyKarbon), and the coloring is done by me. I really like Patricks stuff so it was a must to color this, and especially cause his tutorials are very great
AND it would be even greater if you could give me some feedback on it cause it's just my second coloring after his method, and I want to learn something.
It's done in Photoshop, the size you see is the one I worked in (quite small but didn't matter), took me about 2 hours (maybe a little less).

Thank you,
Gent

Nice job you did there. Pretty clean, fairly similar to most comic style colouring nowadays. Maybe try adjusting the saturation of the colours, they all seem very strong and in your face. I would suggest lowering the saturation to about 60% of what it is here, it will then look much more 'natural'. Also consider that different materials and surfaces, have different types of shading. The hair is just as saturated in colour as the spandex clothing, this is unrealistic even in comic art colouring.

I think that the hair should be desaturated more than the spandex clothing. The spandex is synthetic, and therefore can be colour saturated, but the hair is natural albeit with colour dye... but it still wouldn't be that saturated.

Even if you want to stick with the comic style saturated colours, I still think that it is important to give the viewer visual indications between different materials. The more visual 'clues' you give a viewer, the stronger the message becomes and ultimately the clearer the actual content of the picture will appear.

You have done a fantastic job with the electric sparks. There is just the right amount of line width variation in them to avoid the 'thats a size 3 brush' syndrome.

Clearly also, you have done a good job of considering the 'bounce light' of each material, and light source, as they interact with their surrounding environment. The hint of blue on the left arm, and glow cast on the phone by the sparks is a great observation. Really good for your second pic.

Good job overall.

Hope that helps.

Thank you,
this helped me really much, also if i won't redo it cause I simply got tired of the image, worked to much on it.
If you stare at the picture all the time then the colors don't look that saturated to you anyhow...

Considering the electric sparks: That 3-Pixel-wide-look was exactly what I saw (okay, it was a 1-pixel brush but except of that), and this cause I just smudged it a little. Came out cool I think.

Would be cool to here some more comments, also if they aren't as long as Ian's.

Hi,
not a wonder you haven't seen me in here yet as I am not very good, but anyway I think I am sort of a talent (without being arrogant) cause I really learn quite fast, and maybe in a half year or so I can post some drawings by me. And I just started with coloring, which really brings me much fun... So in 2-3 years maybe.... *think*
How are job chances and income for Comic Colorers?
And I am from the Lake of Constance (Bodensee auf Deutsch)... Your're from Hamburg as I can see...
