Hi, i'm trying to start a picture of the week thing here, because i only have time to paint stuff on the weekend. I'll try to make one picture every week...for a while.

Well, i don't know if anyone played a game by lucasarts called "the secret of monkey island" 2. There is a funny part of the game where the lead character (it's an adventure game) finds a payphone in the middle of the jungle...i didn't make a payphone, but I still find it fun.

please comment and critique...i don't mind it raw either.

Amazing picture cap! I really like this. I hope you'll keep doing these weekly images, as I can see you're learning so much.

I made a quick repaint with suggestions to make values read better. Basically I lowered contrast in background, defined the shape of the tree, and added blurred foreground elements to make depth more obvious.
I also think values in the water might be too over estimated. Maybe they should be closer?

Keep up the amazing work. You're my hero

This is one of the best paintings I've seen in a really long time. I also really love with henrik has done with his paintover -- it really solidified an already gorgeous composition. Simply, wow.

I love the whole concept of this. Would you mind if others took your idea and rolled with it? The idea of adding a piece of modern society to some kind of primitive atmosphere is really appealing.

For example, a condom dispenser underwater.. or something like that.

I think the reflection goes something like this.
Btw. Henrik, I noticed that you used guides when I opened the picture, where did you need guides for?

update.

Those guidelines are mine actually - they're for keeping the cola box from becoming tilted or out-of-shape.

Thank you jesus.
