k. this is a design concept for a friend of mines class i'm helpin her out with. it'll be pretty simple... like this on the left side and the adidas logo somewhere lower/right with text somewhere on the lines of "finally a shoe fit for the gods. apollo: size 10 1/2" or something. havn't thought about colors or anything yet....

but my main concern right now is the wing. i couldn't really figure out how to draw the feathers part... so i'm kinda sticking w/ this for now. if anyone would be so kind as to maybe sketch in their own version of a wing, i'd like to get a couple different styles and see which one i'd like.

also any ideas or feedback would be great... i'd appreciate it.

I could be wrong, but isn't the winged shoes usually associated with Mercury or Hermes?

Those penstrokes are really shaky. Any reason why?

as said above, the god is mercury/hermes, not apollo. its kinda funny though that mercury is being used for an adidas add, mercury being the god of Commerce and speed. i did a quick bit of research and then did some overpaints, took me a couple tries, but heres my thought on the concept.

if this isnt any help, try:
redwing shoes
their logo has a wing behind it, may be of some use. had alot of fun with this concept. good luck to your friend with it!

Mharett: thanks, i think that's what it was missing, was the short feathers at the 'bone' or whatever, and i'll let her know when she gets back from vegas about it being mercury.

Beowulfthefallen: christ, get an easier name to type shaky maybe because i wasn't zoomed in very close and i'm only working with a graphire2 (4x5) ? *shrug*

thx guys, appreciate the crits

I thought it was a weird kind of seahorse thing when I first looked at it.

Then I turned my head sideways..
