I did this sketch while waiting for an image to render. There's some problems with perspective but I kinda like it, but critique is definitely welcome, as always! (It supposed to look dreamy, slightly exaggerated and realistic at the same time )

This is a sketch?! Wow man, you know you're improving when your 'sketches' look like masterful creations to others.

How did you get that cool texture on the pillars? I love the mood, I think you were quite successful! Simply wicked.

It's a nice quick scetch BG , I don't like giving crit's when you have obviously not put a lot of time and effort into it. Looks good for what it is ..a quicky.

Me likes! It's very well balanced with contrast. (And this pic shows nicely with my monitors also. btw. I've pretty same monitors than you: 959NF)

Timo, you've been making some custom Graig'ish brushes? I mean, as mentioned above, the 'texture' on the wall looks very nice indeed, i.e. can you shed any light on what kinda brush setup you used there (and it's PS still, right?).

Oh, almost forgot .. looks great (can't really tell what's hiding behind the gate, so there could be a bit more obvious hint) - a bit greenish though?

Creed: That's a quite compliment! The pillar is a mix of custom brushes and a rock texture.

The Magic Pen: Thanks.

Thanks Luna

-Tepox- I'm glad to hear it shows nicely! (btw. it looks quite different even on 900Sl compared to 950p)

Marvel - Yep, done in Photoshop, I drew three custom brushes for this image and used some old ones. I also used a rock texture for the walls. "The thing" hiding behind the gate is a bad try to hide my l33t anatomy skillzor. Green feels refreshing after half dozen of blueish images

Moose - Thanks for the comment! This should clear some thing for ya:

Torstein, Good idea, I'll fix it. Haha you're right 'bout the door knob =)

(btw. with clever use of custom brushes you can made shading look refined easily and _fast_)

yea, i too would be very interested to learn how these are "sketches" when to me they look worked and very thick.

im not doubting the judgement of your work bg, i think it is freakin beautiful... however i dont think i grasp the process here (how it was made) so i dont see it as a sketch either. i love the depth both visually, and the depth of the "paint." i think its just stunning when depth like this is achieved in digital work.i dig the perspective too

my only complaint would be that it looks like its raining through the door, but no where else.

Very moody indeed. Like someone said, no need to bash already. The sketch is very nice, keep on refining... one question though - if that gate is so friggin huge, who's gonna reach up to that metal ring?

And don't forget that the fires will put some sidelight on the topmost bricks of the wall as well.
