This is a digital painting I have been working on for a few days now, thanks for all the feedback people have given me to get to this stage, I really appreciate it

This was done in photoshop (WITH A MOUSE!) and even some of the linework was drawn with a mouse in PS (such as the weapons).

Ithink I've finally finished it, so I would love to hear what you think about my first efoorts in digital painting

Pretty nice for a first work ... but, still doesn't look too feminine to me - the legs are quite huge and bulky and the face is mascular (the hair doesn't help in that regard). Also the clothing is male'ish, both in form/color and cut. Defining form with the clothes and working on the face/hair would definitely help out here. Also using colors other than the base one within the garment and the skin would help to make 'her' look les cartoon and more lifelike.

I'm not saying the image is bad, the character just isn't a 'woman' to me.

Fix these things and I feel you'll have a great piece in there.

thanks guys, the feminine issue was the biggest prob I had with this one and I don't think I can easily fix it without re-doing heaps of it. I think alot of the mistakes were in my underlying line drawing. I think I will leave it at this stage and maybe come back to it at a later stage to have another go.

But for my first attempt at this sort of stuff I am quite pleased with the results and am looking forward to starting on the next one. I will try not to make the same mistakes again and can't wait till I get myself a tablet
