Just wanted to show some of my stuff, you don't need to crit individual pieces if you don't want to but I would like some overall feedback on my pencil work, like strengths/weaknesses and whether you guys think the work is up to the standard required in the industry?
sorry for the big image dump |

I like your style of drawing, the pencil technique is very fresh and clean. The charators are given a lot of life in how you draw them. That little guy who is chained up is really great i also like the first and second images the worrier guy they are fantastic. seeing your work makes me want to get back in to drawing again..good thing it is wright at the start of my study year. Do more! |

Amazing work.
You can definitely draw, and way better than many people in this "industry" you speak of. As far as I can tell, competition comes in all forms -- are you thinking of doing fantasy book art, or comics, or concept design... ? The real challenge will be in multiple recreations of those characters. That, and whether or not you've got a "commercially viable" idea to sell to someone. The talent is there. -- if you can conceive of and (consistently) generate your art, you've got yourself a job. Anywhere. |

ya, hit up blizzard for a job. They'd hire. You're drawings are consistent with their style. |

I'm curious: Are these pictures combination of Pencil and Ink (Microns etc.) or just pencil?

The pictures look nice... reminds me of the artwork from the Warcraft game manual.
as of critique:
One thing that stands out a little are the heads and the way they connect with the neck.
The "leaping Elf" and "Furry faery" seem to have the most problem in that area. The ears seem to stick out of the cheeks on some drawings. |

wow, thanx for all the positive feedback and for pointing out the problem with the neck head area. I will definitely look into that.
I am currently working on an online fantasy comic (which most of these illustrations are from) and a childrens book in a very different style but would kill for a job as a concept artist. I will look into Blizzard and see what I can find, thanks for the recommendation |

Nice lookin stuff man! I love your clean lines. One suggestion, is to study some more on human perporstions, most are 6 heads high, super heros etc.. are around 8 heads in height. Just tweak and work on your basic human figures a little (can never have enough practice in that ) I would love to see some of you stuff on colored paper (grey, brown?) in maybe red chalk or somethin? Keep up the good work. good luck |
