Okay. Don't read this if you don't want to hear the ravings of someone who is seriously annoyed.

Last night, just after midnight, I was sitting right here at my computer, peacefully drawing and not bothering anybody. I had on The Platters, and I was singing along to 'Twilight Time' as loudly and horribly as possible. (This is my idea of a good time. How sad is that?)

So here I was, innocently getting work done, when the telephone rang. I thought to myself: 'Hm. That's odd. I'd better answer--it can't be anything GOOD this late at night.' Well, the guy on the other end of the line told me he was my godson, whose name isn't really Jack, but whom I will call Jack for these purposes. I exchanged small-talk with 'Jack' for a moment, and then he started saying he'd had some dream about me. THEN he went into this big, perverted 'I want to go to bed with you!' thing (!!!)

Needless to say, I was quite disturbed. But I didn't want to hang up on Jack, who has always been a very close friend. So I listened politely while he went on about some dream he'd had about me. Eventually, I went from 'quite disturbed' to 'utterly freaked out', and I told him that this was NOT a good time. Well, when he heard that, Jack got completely upset and started yelling--so I did my best to calm him down.

As soon as he'd stopped being mad at me, though, he went straight back into the porn. So I started to get right suspicious, and all. No WAY would Jack behave like this. So I cut him off and said 'Hey, guy. What's my name?' He got all blustery again, accusing me of not caring--but at this point, I really DIDN'T care, so I said: 'I DON'T care about people who disrespect me. Now, what in the F--- IS MY NAME?'

Well, he DID end up knowing my name, so I just said 'Well, Jack, thanks a lot. I guess you're just ACTING like you don't know me at all. Go find someone else to torture over the phone. I'm not a phone sex line!'

And I hung up.

This morning, I found Jack on ICQ, and he told me it wasn't him. And he even had proof--he was with his girlfriend at the time.

So now what I want to know is...Who the HELL made that phone call, and what was he THINKING? I really have it out for this pervert now. Not only was the whole experience disgusting and a complete waste of time, but it got me in a big argument with the REAL Jack when I confronted him this morning. AND my boyfriend wasn't too pleased with me either, since I went accusing Jack before knowing for sure it was him.

Anyway. That was heinous. Next time, I swear, I'm calling the police. @#$& sickos.... *grumble*

if he calls again dial *69 then dial the operator and ask to find out the name attached to the number. then call the police.

Yeah, I SHOULD have *69'd the jerk. Somehow, I didn't even think of it till someone else had called and it was too late. You can bet I'll do it if he rings again, though. I've had one stalker already--the last thing I need is another one.

Man,that sucks. I used to get prank calls from asshole jerks just trying to get on people's nerves.

If the f*cker calls again, *69 his ass and get the police. Also, make sure to tell the pervert "I'm having this call recorded and traced by the police because I knew you would call again." I bet he won't call again after that. Ever.

Hell, just take it as a compliment and don't give it another thought. You have to admit, you ARE pretty sexy when you wear a lot of black and wield a sword.

That's really sick. Although I am guilty of making a few (harmless, don't worry) prank call myself. It went as follows, "Hello, yes this is a prank call regarding the opperational status of your refrigerator...(click)... hello?...Sir?" Seriously though, call the cops if it happens again. Especially if it's late at night and you think it may be someone you encounter on a regular basis.

I've had to deal with a few prank calls before, caller ID works wonders on this matter.

Well you found someone who is way sadder than you. Calls people up in the middle of the night to talk porn and saying they are someone whom the person cares about...

Honestly I think drawing and "The Platters, and I was singing along to 'Twilight Time' as loudly and horribly as possible" isn't sad... At least it won't get you a fine or jail time.

You might want to be careful too. If this guy knew the names of both you and your God-son and knew that also... for all you know he might be up to something else or what not. If I were you I wouldn't take anything too lightly for awhile and ou might want to get caller ID if you can... And I hope you get him...

if you communicate with 'Jack' trough icq,
email or whatever it may be someone who have
access to his or your log files.

you might wanna check your own machine for
intrusions first. interesting info and help

please note that sending info trough the
net(be it icq, email, or some chat client)
is like talking with a friend in
a caf�, there are always people who
will hear your conversation.
therefore it's advisable to encrypt info
that you feel is only for the recipients
eyes.

checking with your godson first seems like a
good idea though. he might have some less
grownup friend that might have gotten
found of you.

I have already spoken at length with him--neither of us can figure out who the HELL would want to go and do something like this. I have a couple of 'enemies', but nobody who would stoop to THAT level (I think.)

The funny thing was that whoever did it sounded very much like 'Jack'. I'm not very good at recognizing phone voices to begin with, but this guy sounded pretty damn close. I'm betting it was someone he knows...but I can't think who.

the worst that i've had to contend with is ppl ringing me and then hanging up JUST AS I PICK UP THE PHONE.

maybe thats just representative of the aussie mentality - prank caller rings number, then just as they pick up the phone at the other end the prank caller says to himself 'nah, cant be arsed making this prank call, rather be havin a beer in front of the telly' and hangs up, causing much frustration to the receiver but little else happens.

the whole deal about pranks is that its anonymous, and that they don't know you, and you don't know them.. i dunno why someone would involve personal information like that...

Yeah...when I used to make prank calls.... (This is when I was 12, now, so don't think I'm really like this!) ...I used to look up people in the phone book with last names like Belcher or Flatch, and then make burp or fart noises in the phone at them. I didn't go calling people I knew and being disgusting. I did the usual calling random numbers and trying to order pizzas, and phoning pubs asking for Mark Hunt, but really...this call went above and beyond funny. It was horrible.
