I'd say it is almost there, it is just missing ... something. I'm sorry but I can't really say for sure what. I think maybe a bit too many darks, I don't know what I should be focusing on. But as to the style, I'm rather liking it yeah. |

*nod, i see what you mean about the darks now that i sit back and look at it, heh. and i think its hard for you to focus on something cause the composition is just so horrible, hehe. thanks for the comment tho, glad you like the style. |

I see nothing wrong with colors or the setting, picture just needs something for the background. |

I like the simple/rough style of it.
My only problem was that the inks seemed to have a bit of a different lighting and composition...to me anyway. I grabbed the black linework (sort of) and reworked them into the lighting that I thought the inks suggested. Not sure it's anymore moody, but looking at the lineart, it seemed to share the shadow directions etc. a bit better. Not sure what you had in mind, though.

I like it ..
The linocut / vectorgraphic style is nice .. but .. as mentioned by others before .. it is a bit TOO dark ... and it would definately be nice to have slightly more details ... |

Love the style, very dark, very cool. TWo suggestions:
1- How about some splattering rain?
2- You need a a bit of light on the dark side of his face, right now it is too dark. Just a small indication would give it much more depth.

DarkGarden, thanks for the paint over, that lighting works a little better on the head.
also, i agree that it turned out darker than intended. i originally did it just black and white, but with the color added, it ended up just too dark.
good idea for adding a fill light to his front jucas.
thanks for all the helpful comments and crits. hopefully ill start learning and the next image will be better |
