my first pic in quite a while, and a departure from my usual style and themes. there are a lot of things i don't like about it, but the aim was just to try and do something different from my usual fare. c&c welcome.

That is incredibly cute! I love the bright colors. It could probably make a nice Christmas card as well

hmm no one replied yet.. Well this is AWEsome in my opinion.. looks like its from a childrens book. good job... Colours are a bit clashy in my opinion.. I like the blue, yellow , red, purple violet. The only color that i think doesnt fit in is the Orange coat.

For example if you look at the top half of this painting ( head to wastes the colours are very nice ( blue , yellow and orange.

then If you look at the bottom the colours dont quite match (shaulder to feet orange, purple , violet, red, yellow).

Maybe experiencing with a different colour jaket...

I agree that the colours are a bit off... I personally like the colours from the waist up - although the tights are OK... I guess it's really just the boots and the skirt that I think should maybe be toned down a bit...

That hat is cute as hell!

yeah, i played around with the colours for ages. using the good old adjust > variations in photoshop gave some really cool results, but i wanted to try using as many colours as possible, as children are wont to do. i know it sort of looks off.

wigin - actually, the coat is the colour i started with .

yea... really nice. only thing i don't like is the penguin. i don't know why but it looks somehow strange to me.
a funny thing that made me wonder is: this little girl in such an cold area. no problem. but i think her thin clothes, trousers, skirt. i think she will die if she stays here anylonger but it really looks good. awesome i would say!!

jayceeL - cool, thanks man

pro-phet - well, she's not really supposed to be in the antarctic or anything. the idea of the picture is more like a urban myth - if you dig holes in ice, you'll find a penguin. her clothes should probably look a bit more thermal than i drew them.

I was always told that if you dig a deep enough hole, you'd hit China!? Maybe that's a North American thing!

Great pic! Love the orange coat!
