Is this your painting that you scanned? The painting is class! but that block of colour really ruins it in my opinion. |

Hey Cos, thanks alot man! Glad you like it. It's the first time an English/Scot/Welsh person has ever commented on my work!
(The wonders of technology never cease to amaze me).
I suppose I haven't given that much information on this, so here goes:
Yes, it is a painting that I scanned, done in acrylic. As part of the parameters of an assignment, I had to include a colored geometric shape to match the values of an otherwise grey painting. (I know the colored bits look darker, but the scanner really muffs with the image quite a bit, the greys are actually darker, and the painting is sharper overall in person).
At any rate, I'm pleased that you like it. Thanks for your input. |

interesting work. i like to see assignments like this because people are forced to push themselves and do things they normally wouldn't do. any details about the subject of the painting? she looks very classical, i'm just wondering if this is a copy of a master painting, a live model, a photo, whatever.

Hi Jeffery. Yes, you are right in that it is a bit different than something I would've done on my own. My reference was a photo of a peasant girl I saw in a book about immigrants to America. Thanks for looking! |
