Another girl similar to the first one I did. I was gonna give her dreadlocks... but for some reason I'm kinda digging the unfinished scribbles around her face. What do you all think?
I was going for a look that was soft and fuzzy, not totally realistic. I suppose I wanted to maintain a simplified, graphic quality to it.

Few crits - her right eye (on the pic) is too small; the cheek below that eye looks weird, like she's starved out. the other cheek's fine. |

I tweaked the things you mentioned mr. t
I didn't want to change her cheek -too- much. I was aiming for high cheekbones I guess. |

its unfinished, but good
you have alot of detail in the eyes, lips etc...try adding colour and some light n shadow. Its a very well done drawing, but I think it would look even better in full colour brought to the next level
ya know star ! |

Anthony - Thanks for the crit. However I think I'd prefer to keep it monotone... I dunno, I just like the soft simple look to it. If I do decide to add some color it will be very subtle. I prefer to keep this looking more like a charcoal drawing on colored paper rather than a bright, colorful piece. I appreciate the comments though. |

I'm going to be totally evil and bump this. Just wanted a little more feedback on whether or not I should leave the hair like this or not.

No. you're not evil!
The shading of the face is awesome and values work mainly very well. except you could lighten up noses darkest area a little bit (maybe The lips needs it also). Nose's head looks a somehow flat; maybe darken the lower part of it just a little.
Btw. The eyes looks so damn NICE! =)
keep it up!

Gorgeous eyes, Jez. ;} I'm jealous.
As for the question of the hair, I dunno, maybe add some more sketchyness to it like a Michelangelo drawing, but I wouldn't render it. I like the unfinished look. ;}
Great work. |

-Tepox- : Thank you. Yeah, heard the nose comment a couple of times. I'll see about doing that =)
Merekat : Woop, thanks! I like the unfinished look as well
