Wow, it's been a little over a year since I last posted. Here are a few drawing I've fairly recently. Critiques and comments welcome.

wow! incredible and I especially mean the second one. that left cheek and the shadow on the nose are rendered beautifully. I love that cast shadow that the nose makes too. Well done. The third is a good piece too especially because of the shape that the hair makes but it lacks the dimension of the second. You have one highlighted area all by itself so your darks and lights don't engage eachother but instead just stand next to eachother. It's the difference between wolverine and sabortooth standing next to each other and the two of them entangled in a brawl. The first piece is great because of the line contrasts but the facial structure needs tighter structure if you know what I mean. Like the nose droops a little on one side more than the other. Structural problems tend to flatten an image. Wonderful over all though. Truly.

As everyone before me........The third one is outstanding.
Kinda weird seeing "Junior Member" next to member #1174. It must have been a while.
Anyway, good stuff.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
hethebar: Thanks a lot for the critique. I have the toughest time drawing noses face on. The nose doesn't really seem to pop out. Time to start practicing some more!
EviLToYLeT: Hey neighbor. Do you go to school in the area?
shahar2k: These drawing were all done in pencil. For the last one, I used a thick layer of lead from a soft pencil (4b-6b if I remember correctly) and one of those rolled-paper shader sticks. |
