This is a really sucky picture of this piece, you can't really see the patterns that I carved on this bone. The black color around the side of it was burnt and smoked with a candle and a stove. I hope I can get a better picture of it. *signs/

was there a flash used? it didnt look like it. if there was, get rid of it. perhaps try to get a few angles so we can get an overall feel for the piece.

other than that its quite interesting, any reason behind it?

Hmm.. I'll try to get in touch with my friend with the camera. Once I have a proper photograph, I'll bump up this thread..

About the reason I did this, it fits into the theme of my exhibition: It's about relationships as a series of experimentation. Ox bone is kind of an unusual medium to use, and that fits into the idea of "experimentation".This was also made to deliver a message. I felt something wrong in a relationship that I've been having, and I felt mentally tortured by the girl. This is for telling her "come on, let's go further."

But the second reason doesn't make any sense, so I guess she won't understand after all.

It's cool to see something kinda random and completely different. It is interesting that an object like this can have a bit of a story/reason behind it. I'm a little lost with your explanation of "come on, let's go furhter" but then again, I guess that is part of the 'art' of it.

Hopefully you can get a better picture as it would be interesting to see what patterns there are.

Really the main idea is to tell her she is torturing me. The "let's go further" part is for her to figure out.
I hope that explains it..

Ok, as I promised, here is the picture of the ox bones in their finished state. They are now more burnt then carved. And the other picture was a work in progress picture that I dug out of my desk. Enjoy (I hope).
