pretty cool. I love the dragon.

The first thing I noticed was that the column doesn;t look very round at all.. and its the fault of the linework there.

I can't crit anything atm, I'm being distracted....

Wow thanks for the comments, i thought i woulda got beat to death on this board. As for some info on the pic, this was the first time i did a painting style piece and the first pic using my wacom. I usually do a comic book style coloring, but seemed to have lost the touch in the recent months.

wow that took likew 5 minutes to load
better crit or that time would be for nothing :P

i like it a lot. my only problem is with the coloring... the dragon's color is way too simillar to the pillar in the background- thus, the dradon blends in and doesn't pop out at you like he should, to make the picture as dramatic as it could be.

umm... I agree with the dragon being to similar to the pillar... if you gave the dragon a slightly warmer or cooler tone it would stand out more...

ok ok... its great and still looks comic-like to me... you ain't lost no skillz.. Its good!

see what i mean? i lightenedup the pillar and the background, and tinted them a dirty orangize/yellow. i think it makes a nice bit of haze, brings the drangon and elf forward, pushes the background back and gives a nice sense of depth. anyone agree?

u might have did the pillar too much but i get what u mean. Add a bit of atmospheric perception or maybe tint the pillar a bit white to make it marblish looking. As for thes comic book look i ment using cuts etc. i just used the paintbrush on everything and added a few airbrushed highlights to the dragon very few "cuts" done on this pic. Sorry for the size when i made it any smaller it looked terrible.

With the way the pillar looks now, it looks like there is fog around it, which i think is way cool look, and it brings the dragon and stuff out, but then you should blend it so the dragons hand might get a little of it, and make a small transition to it... but hey, it looks really great!
