Well maybe not but I can pretend heh. This started off as a lighitng study, using
myself by candle light in the mirror for reference. Ended up working it into
this mean jedi bashtid who looks like me. cool. Comment and crits always welcome =)

I love that painting, especially the dramatic lighting on the face, that and the scared eye makes him look like one bad-@$$ jedi.-Whats his name just so I make sure and stay away from him if I see him in a cantina? I can't wait to see more. Later.

The lighting is superb. The portrait is really great - lots of character!

I'd just suggest bringing the clothes and hair a little closer to the tightness of the face and call it day!

Niiiice I like this a lot, cos(being a huge star wars fan helps a little ). I really like the lighting. It adds a nice bit of mood to it.

The crease under his scarred eye looks kinda strange. Like how it doesn't curve back up toward the outer edge of his eye as it does with the other one. Could be wrong, though.

The scarred eye itself, I feel, isn't reflective enough. Even though it is damaged, it's still an eye and should be a bit shinier in my opinion.

Yeesh. I wouldn't want to meet you in a dark alley. Sweet brush work. I like the loose stuff on the lower part of his collar. I'm a big fan of the color scheme too... my last two paintings have hovered in the same range. Nice work, sir.

Excellent painting. I really like the painterly feel and the color scheme. I love the texture on the face, especially the forehead. The head is perfect and I think the shoulders are lacking compared to it. I mean I like how it dissolves in detail further from the head it gets but it's a bit abrupt between the face and the collar. I also think that the red light coming from the (our) right doesn't quite match up with the lightsaber. It seems that the light should be coming from more straight on if the saber was in that position. I think it's the nose where I can see this the most. I would not mess with the face as it is (like I said) great but maybe just move the saber a bit to the right.

None of these things are big enough to take away from the (great) quality of this pic, I am just trying to do my part in giving constructive crits.

Oh just a thought (maybe a cheesy one) you could add a braid coming from the back over the shoulder in the Star Wars fashion.

Only a couple of suggestions - the light from the sabre is too red I think. Shouldn't it be more yellow? You could make his (!) right side abit darker to allow for a bit more drama in the lightning from the lightsabre. Also his right shoulder should be toned down just a little.
maybe add a bit of backglight?? well, maybe not.

Cos, this picture is very good. I would love to see others. That guy looks awesome. I love the colour range you have chosen. Your techneque on the skin is great. I would rather see a guy like that in Starwars then some stupid 10 year old that can blow up death stars on autopilot.

I think you can add more 'mood' into this painting if you'll put dark deep shadows on the left (our left) side of the dude (read: use only one lightsource - lightsaber) and even more add a backlight and fix the hair. Just a suggestion. Anyway painting looks great!
