not bad. why is her hair grey? you didnt manage to cover up her privates too succesfully now did you? and i think the giant 'tag' takes away from the piece as well. i do like the texture in the armour though.

hmmm...it would seem you missed my point. If you were to put CLOTHES on her, you could see her face. Then you might start to care about who she is, what she's doing, what she's freakin fighting for. Got me so far? What you did was expand on the 'Nudist Armor'. Instead of giving her a gi, or some pants at least, you added bells and whistles to the origional costume. Now if she fights someone, her breasts are so propped up they'll be the first to go (suddenly a nudist warrior bimbo is less appealing than she once was, gushing blood out of her chest). Give her clothes, not a fancier suit. I want to see who she is, not her exposed body, that's just violating. If she were real (which the model is) she would probably be weeping inside because she could no longer keep any physical secrets (do you know how damaging it can be for these models, posing nude to make money? Some like it, but for others it seems their only option and THOSE ones go home and sob themselves to sleep. I don't want to see that) Give this woman her dignity back and lets find out who she is.

I'll have to agree with Isric on this one. I get really sick of all the pornographic painting that I see. As far as I'm concerned its a waste of effort to work so hard on such a piece, for the sole reason that it gives some guy a hard one. A huge part of art is creativity and innovation, making something distinct to you, replicatable by no other person; an amazing way to express yourself. But you loose all this when you make a faceless, lifeless objectified female. Cliche, unoriginal, it reduces art to something photography can achieve far better anyways.

Create a character with character. How about making a face that shows so emmotion. Do something that I'll remember. Not that people shouldnt draw attractive girls, but I'm saying -- innovate, create, and go a bit deeper than a hourglass and spheres.

Being a natural-born and well-bred cynic, I have to say that it's actually a good maneuver, this - any male or lesbian opponent would be swept by her looks... Or stimulated for even better challenge.
Go Isric, though.

Well, I always say that dignity is not important...it's everything. One can do anything and still keep one's dignity. The defiant prostitute who still keeps her head up high and refuses to be ashamed; the Playboy model who does it all with a smile because she knows she's doing it all for her education; the soldier who fights for his country even though he's afraid...because he thinks it's the right thing to do--those people all have dignity. It comes from defiance, from strength of conviction.

It looks like the only strength that girl has is in her lower back, to carry the enormous weight of her chest. You might as well have painted her crucified. She's just as caught.

Technically, you've improved a whole hell of a lot. But I think what you're still missing is originality. (I know this sounds horribly harsh. Please bear with me; I'm not trying to be insulting.) The thing is, everyone does things like this. Photographers; artists--everyone. Hell, I think I own that top, and the shoes too. It screams of stereotype. If you want to keep painting in this style, and still make something that's going to be taken seriously, ,then you need to find some way to subvert the stereotype--some way to make it interesting.

At the moment, to be honest, I would not look twice at this if I saw it outside of the forum. The figure is presented without context, without dignity, and without anything to distinguish it from a thousand others of its ilk. So it isn't interesting.

You're a good painter, with excellence within your reach. Try something a little more ambitious now. This is amateur stuff.

I don't mean to sound mean, but this...bugs me.

you know what, I just remembered the name of an artist who can really use nudity in a good context. There's a eropean artist name Masimiliano Frezzato, he made a huge graphic novel called 'Les Gardiens Sur Le Maser'. I'll scan some stuff later, but there's a good example. It's not undignifying in any way. Whn you see it, it's not porn, and there's not much of it, maybe 2 panels. Socar Myles, it sounded like you were disagreeing with me at first. Can you really compare the dignity of a Soldier walking into combat with a model making money for school though? I mean common. That's a stretch. I'm looking forward to seeing how Noctali handles this image. Just a quick note for you N, work on faces, that way you'll be able to breathe some life into this...excuse me for saying this, piece of meat.

{edit} Here's a quick example of what I mean:

please for give the horrible scan, I did it fast, and ignore the head on the right, my pencil sliped and now her mouth looks horrible. Now, granted this isn't the best example, but you start to get an idea of what she's about (even without a background). This is what I had in mind (mind you I changed the style of the costume, have must stay with your style, naturally) she's not exposed, it's a cool chance for design, and everyone goes home happy. I know what I'm saying to you could start a huge nudity depate on the forum, so just a quick note. I AM NOT AGAINST NUDITY. I'm against gratuitous, pointless, pornographic nudity.

I wasn't disagreeing, Isric. Although, in my book, anyone who commits themselves to something they really don't want to do in order to achieve something has a certain dignity, whether they're a soldier or a Playboy bunny. I'm not necessarily comparing the two. They're two separate examples.
