ok well...ill sum it up right here...an its on his site as well soo....the way i see it...the proof is in the pudding? :-)
"A thumbnail look at the art history of Walter Brogan
First drawing was done in pencil at the age of 3.
I owe my gratitude to seeing King Kong being played on TV, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to capture the image. If it wasn't for King Kong I probably would not be doing art today.
I Graduated from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan NY with a BFA 1977.
I started working at Marvel Comics while still in school working on a magazine called crazy doing movie & TV parodies.
It was a Good Learning Experience.
My main idols in my field were Neal Adams, Jack Davis( who I had seen work of his in ads), Chuck Jones and Albert Dorne.
Harvey Kurtzman and Will Eisner my teachers who turned me onto MAD Magazine to see the illustrator Mort Drucker who they said my drawings resembled alot.
I always wanted to go into advertising and be an art director.
I had later worked at the FCB Foote Cone Belding as an assisstant art director.
Than B & B Benton and Bowles: I worked as an art director.
After a few years there I got disillusioned with doing art directing so I moved out to California where I had gotten accepted into a training program at Walt Disney Studios.
Then I went to Hanna-Barbara working on storyboards and layouts.
I met Chuck Jones out in California, what a nice guy. He also said "You draw alot like Mort Drucker" which made me laugh.
I was out there for about 3 years and I came back to New York, worked for Cracked Magazine from home doing Movie and tv parodies.
I also worked as a storyboard illustrator for just about every advertising agency in New York thanks to my agent. Now I currently work for Robscape.com while still working in advertising doing storyboards and animatics.
"
his work kicks ass obviously....yet another person i can derive inspiration from
