Well over a year ago I finished a series of about 36 images to be used as background graphics for a computer game. The company that hired me was Prelusion, Inc from Sweden. Their website for the game is http://www.gilbertgoodmate.com The game is called "Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria."
Here's an example of my work:
They were all done in Photoshop on a PC using a digital tablet and pen. Here's another example:
The company then had some problems finding a publisher, because most games are 3D, now. This one is in the classic style of the Monkey Island series... and it's very difficult.
At any rate, it's now available in several countries, including the USA through: http://www.playinggamesinteractive.com/
All of the work I did can be seen on my server at: background thumbnails
If you play games, give it a shot. I don't play many games - however, I do have a brain but I couldn't get through it without hints.
Cheers...

This is cool, like a backdrop for a Kinq's Quest game or whatnot. What's it for? |

I like this quite a bit. It reminds me of Don Maitz's work. The picture as a whole is well thought out. I have one big sugestion, though: You need to create a stronger contrast in the shadows and highlights. Everything kinda seems flat. Otherwise, great job! |

The process of working with the company in Sweden (I'm in the USA) was entirely done over the internet. They'd send me a text description of a scene and I'd put together a compositionbal skectch like below and p[ost it on my server:
After it was approved I'd then finish it off:
Everything over the Internet. I have never met them or talked with them on the phone. Though I have kept in touch via email with them. Great guys...

Cicinimo...
There is a darker side... though I still keep the colors light. Check out two of my other posts "head man - head woman" and "Grief 1995."
