This is the first Painter 6 image I've done. I tried earlier versions of Painter, but always rejected them - awful interface... but Painter 6 is another story. Solid!!!

I critiqued you in the little wildlife thread, but I'll do it again . I love your color choices here; as far as I'm concerned its brilliant. As I said, I especially like the lilly pads and the snake. Those fish in the front tho, they're kinda flat too me. I also love how loose you used painter. Gives the picture a nice feel. It doesnt look like the water disorts whats within it at all. Maybe beacause you want to convey still waters, but, I donno, that could be interesting.

Nice critique, Cininimo. I've enjoyed your critigues of all the work in the other posts as well.
I'm not entirely sure why, but I didn't want the surface of the water to be apparent in this image... which is why it is not apparent... I was also keeping the foreground fish very flat without details. Again not totally sure why - almost an abstraction. The layout with all it's levels in a very flat depiction was deliberate... I need to do some more before I really understand why.

Hi!
This is a great image.. it has a very cool mood. The only thing I want to comment are the fishes in the front, they look way too flat, almost like paper cutouts.. but other than that it is great.
I saw that you did the graphics for gilbert goodmate, just wanted to say I looked at their webpage once, and the one thing I can remember from it was your images, they are really good. (unfortunately the game seems to be soo monkey island-ish it's almost a straight copy of the third game, please correct me if I'm all wrong |

kegie,
Hey... thanks for the comment about my backgrounds.
But...well... I think you're wrong about the game. The only thing that is similar is the 2d animated style. The game and story are completely different... and I think more difficult.
BTW, I have a post in this forum titled "Computer Game Backgrounds..." that shows some of the Gilbert BGs
