Gah! I didn't mean to post this here - it is not done.
Like I said in Work in Progress, this is Satan trapped in a bad italian opera.

this is very nice. it looks like a church window in a way- really interesting. however, appears a bit "dirty" to me, maybe you might wanna clean up some of the lines esp. around his arms etc.. also, see,s like you didn't choose a certain light direction for the shading of the skull. But still, nice piece. |

Yep, I agree on both points. My main thing to help finish it is to straighten out the green on his sleeve-thing, and to put the skull into shadow more.

excellent.. finally somebody who doesnt draw the devil as a little red horned freak.
while I dont necessarily prefer to paint Satan, I think this is quite a good picture. I like the expression on his face.... full of contempt. I like how he's an attractive individual but the sneer has made him hard and ugly.
I think this catches the essence of the devil very nicely.
as for colours, I think you could use less muddy colors and get some brighter tones in there... also a little work on the facial structure... but coming along very nicely.
good job. |

Awetopsy: do you mean maybe I should saturate some of the areas more? Also, I know his face looks like he got hit with a board or something, but I might leave it like this, because I am going for a very compressed, sort of 'flat' look, like an icon or flats on a theater stage.
Shamhead: no relation, as far as I know... Never heard of him - is he someone I should know about? |

He does look like he is part of a stained glass window. Cool! And the contrast change Awetopsy posted does make it look more vibrant. Can't wait to see it totally finished! |

well maybe.. here is just a simple 37% contrast change..
It makes alot of the colors bolder. Because its satan, I imagine you want him to have a much stronger impact on the eye, which means stronger color. |
