I agree that the balance could seem problematic in the flipped version as Socar MYLES just said, but my impression is that you're expecting Conan to jump and attack his adversaries in the flipped version, and to wait for the first blow in the unflipped one.
And the unflipped one seems more natural to me for the 'right handed' reason.

Anyway, great picture.

Don't flip it. The perspective on the axe is defunct in the flipped version, isn't as obvious in the non-flipped one. Excellent mood, simply sweet.

Yo vebjorn!

Nice piece =D
I'd go with the unflipped version for a cover
since it has a nice forward motion.
I think that what makes the axe blade
seem strange is that the highlight is
placed a lil off. if you still have the time,
try putting it on the edge of the blade.
that way the highlight will look more
like it's coming from the moonlight.

Good luck!

Don't flip it.
The ax looks off like mentioned before. The blade should be pointing outwards towards your enemies.
His right arm seem a tad too thick, well more around the forearms actually, and his grip is also kinda low on the ax, best example that I can tell you to look at (for axe handling) is Astaroth from the Soul Calibur game. Love the face on the moon btw. I also have to agree with Socar, maybe move your signature a little bit.
I like the composition and the use of color(not that many but very effective)awesome looking pic

In the first version he looks like hes defending...or maybe just have had enough of pursuation and turns back to fight or something...the flip makes it seem like hes the offensife guy, lying in ambush kinda...

at least that was my impression...so what pic to use would depend on what situation you want him to be in...

I could be wrong, if someones better at composition theory he might laugh...but until that happens Im the one whos right! =)
