For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a Swedish film directed by the same guy that did Bjork's "Dancer In the Dark."
The title, "Fucking Amal" refers to the frustration and angst the teenagers feel about the small town they live in called Amal. "Nothing ever happens in fucking Amal!" screams one of the frustrated teenagers.
Basically, the story is about a teenage girl who is a total outcast in her school. She doesn't have a single friend, but is in love with a very popular girl in her school. The movie portrays the characters very realistically, and really shows how painful it can be to be a teenager, especially when you are in love with someone of the same sex.
I really liked the movie, despite the less-than-professional directing and camera work. The movie is sweet, bitter, cute, dark, and charming.
Give it a try if you've never seen it(especially if you were ever a fan of "My So Called Life." The North American release goes under the title "Show Me Love." (Yeah, the original title is much better. Why are American's so uptight?)

It's the shittiest movie of shitty movies...
But it's kinda fun because of forigners read the title it sounds like a porn flick.
Amal? Who's Amal?
The � is to be pronounced like a mix between A and O...
(and btw, �m�l is a little shitty town...bwaaaahahahaha, I laugh at those who live there) |

| well i thought it was good. watched it twice. it was refreshing cuz im used to retardedly shitty american movies. maybe its shitty when compared to better sweedish movies. whatever. maybe i just like watching doughy little sweed dykes kissing. |

Haven't seen the film, but I've been to the town. It's quite possibly the most forgettable town I've had the misfortune of finding myself in, outside of Wales. I'm not an easily bored person, but, damn, that place is Boring with a capitol B, bold, italics, tripple underlines, five exclamation marks (!!!!!), and a little flashing neon sign above it saying "Boring, boring, very, very boring", which, incidentally, is also bold, etc, etc.
But no, I haven't seen the film.

Lunatique: "the guy" who made Dancer in the dark, Lars von Trier, did not direct direct Fucknig �m�l. Just look at the picture you posted, it says "Regie: Lucas Moodysson". The movie was both written and directed by him.

The picture is just off the internet. The verson of DVD I have is the american release, with a different cover.

The director, Lukas Moodyson, directed a few of Madonna's videos.. maybe that's what confused you, Lunatique.
More boring facts: The movie wasn't recorded in �m�l, but in another equally boring town. �m�l representatives later sued Lukas.. don't know how it all turned out though.

| Has Moodysson directed any Madonna videos? I know that Johan Renck (aka Stakka Bo) directed the nothing really matters video and that Jonas �kerlund has made a bunch of videos of her videos. But I have never heard of one by Lukas. |
