Heh. I was expecting sunny flower-colored birds and such. Great somber mood you've created. Curious as to the light source. Break in the clouds? Street lamp? Train he intentionally stepped in front of?

Also, are umbrella handles that thick in Finland? You must get some hard-core rain there...

Nice work!

don't feel bad...the weather here in california, usa hasn't been that much better recently, it is just now beginning to get warm and sunny. but i agree...the handle needs to be thinner. nice picture though.

thanks for the comments! and after whole week of rain the weather has suddenly changed for better over here.
i agree that the handle is way too big and also the umbrella itself is quite huge one. i didn't plan this well enough and that got me in trouble when painting this.

Now the sun is shining and the birds sing (though I can't hear them because of the passing cars under my window, but i think the birds are there

Well for a nice little extreme you could come to Texas, we had a nice little thunderstorm with some tornado warnings last night, however today it's supposed to start heating up again, arond 94 farenheit. I forget what that's in Celcius, and that is not counting the heat index and humidity.
Basic idea here, if you don't like the weather wait five minutes.

We've had that weather lately. It's not raining today (for once), but it's 86F and 88% humidity. As for the image, I really like it. The sketchy quality is nice, and I've got an umbrella that's almost that big. The only other thing I noticed is that the handle doesn't line up with the "tip." It's bent? A very good quick image.
