IT'S GANDALF!
This picture is perfect, the only thing I could recommend is that you age his hands a little more. The skin looks too youthful for this wize old man. Apart from that, it's absolutely wonderful!!
I wish I had a friend like you that made me a snazzy picture like this for my birthday waaaaaaahhaaaaaaa |

Where are the light sources for this scene? With all that light coming in from the window, there should be some deeper shadows. If there is fill-light coming from in front of the wizard, then the lighting on his face and body should be reversed and there should be some form shadows on his clothing and cast shadows on the wall. |

Pretty cool, just a few things.
The foreshortening on the pointing arm seems a tad off, add more weathering to the face. I get the old wizard look but he needs more wrinkles and sun spots and stuff. His face just looks too young.
Everything else looks really cool. I like it. |

I think the guy could have stronger lighting that would be coming through the window, hiting his outstretched arm, back of his cloak and side of hat. The front of him should be darker in contrast, I think. |

It's a young Gandalf! I don't a problem with the lighting though.

Ok, I don't know if your gonna prefer it this way. I did this quickly to try and explain what I was talking about with the lighting, e.t.c.

I agree, more thought on the light sources. Maybe don't go this dramatic, but you get the idea. Foreshortening is really hard to do out of your head. |

Green.7, sorry man, I think my comments were harsh or abrupt looking at them now, didn't mean them to come across like that, I was abit burnt out at the time. Anyway, I never noticed you were asking for crits until
after my first reply and felt I should try to help if I could.
Its a great pic, I'm sure whoever it is for will love it, Welcome by the way
Spooge - I really like what you did with your version too.

Cool painting green7. I really like the colors.
Spooge, how do you do it? 1000's of hours of painting I guess.
Killer mood in it. |
