Nice! That sky is incredible.
Few things I notice after close inspection:
The right side of the far landscape is lit, while the left side is pitch dark. The cloud formation that blocks the setting sun seems like it would actually cause more light to fall in the valley between the left and right. Maybe hint at some ridges on the left too? But keep the values very dark.
A higher value (really thin) edge of light on the silhouette of the standing man might help (or it might compete with the sunset for a focal point - dunno)
The perspective of the shadow, both of man and rock, is off. At that angle, they'd also be a lot longer.
The guy: What if you relaxed his pose a little? Relax his shoulders and slacken his stance a tad. Unless you're going for tense - In that case, you nailed it. But the piece seems to be more relaxed everywhere else.
Wow, again - nice atmosphere. And I'm a big fan of the sepia look too. At this point in my development, I wouldn't be able to come up with something that feels this moody. I like |

hey guys, thanks for the crits!
ChaosArk-- After looking at it for a while, your absolutly right about the misguided shadeing. Didn't notice anything until you said it hehe. This is actualy my first atmostphereic painting, so, the shadeing was new to me. BTW, what's sepia ?
Dr. Bang-- Hehe, well, all of my Other Work Happens to have a nekkid female in it somehow. I just didn't think a feminine butt would have given the same effect.
Visigoth-- Ditto!

Sepia is just a proccess whereby a photographer alters a black and white photo to give it warmer colors. A description of the proccess can be seen here:

Again, really nice job. |
