I'm not very happy with the result, but because it took me nearly 10 hours to finish... I posted it anyway =)

Bg, always working hard. The colouring of the beast, foreground and background is exceptional. What parts of this colouring aren't you happy with? You are after all only getting better.

I think it's the legs man, they look all smooth and elongated, while I'm expecting this thing to have much more defined muscles under the skin around the legs... right now they look kind of like a camel's legs...
plus the composition is kind of static, with the girl deadcenter, and the creature being perpendicular to the edges and all...
just my observation |

Looks like you use black or dark grey to darken the colors, makes them muddy. I think the whole pic would benefit if there was a brighter spot on the beast or the girl
... might as well overpaint a little. just a sec.. there.
Your lights are weird, they lit some parts of the beast but leave others untouched :)
Spend more time thinking about the big masses, and which portions are in total shadow. Mess around with big brushes (100-200 px) until your lights make sense when you squint your eyes. More saturated colors in shadow can make huge difference on the overall look, not that my overpaint was a good example, which it isn't. |

good stuff bg , some of your shading makes the girl look weird, but I like your overall slickness to the image |

Very nice Timo. I agree with what gecko said though. The lightning isn't very consistent. I really like the design of that beast. Pretty cool! Another thing. There seems to be alot of paintbrush banding (similar colors laying close to each other) which is a big giveaway saying this is digital. It's a tedious thing to get rid of the banding, but I thing your work, genereally speaking would benefit alot from that extra work. Just a thought...

i like the overall pic. what else can i say?.... ah! i think her pelvis should be more to the right. that way her leg seem to be layed too akward. not natural.
that's it

Yeah, nice to see so much crit and not just
comments!
Dryfire, none: thanks
Speve-o-matic: It's not about the colouring, it's the lighting as you can se from gecko's repaint (which has 10x better lighting).
sharak2k: I tried to keep the forms as simple as possible.
Lukias: Thanks. You guys are right about the legs... maybe next time
Gecko: Now you're talking, I totally agree with you.. and thank you very much for the overpaint!!
Cos: Thanks.
Boomstick: You can blame Flexible Elf for the creature design.
