Hiii!
Could you give some feedback for this dinosaur pic I made just recently?
So far the worst mistake I have noticed is the perspective of the grass, unless it goes downhill. It shouldn't
And then that more sketchy stuff I made...
I didn't have any reference for that drawing.
The flower-thing is painted from life in less than an hour in acrylics. The color of the vase seems to be completely off.
Critics and tips on how to get better, please!
And hey! Could you please post something a little bit more constructive than those "hey yeah good work" messages. They dont really help anyhow......
Thank you. |

hey yeah good work
=)
No, seriously.. good work. But yeah, the perspective looks off on the vase. It looks a bit scewed and 2-dimensional. Not sure how to improve it now. Maybe try getting it more symmetric, and also try making the bottom less flat, more 3-dimensional.
The dinosaur looks good, although the horns look a bit thin and wimpy... those horns won't scewer many t-rexes
The pirate-dude (or what he is looks great. |

Um these are really quite nice.. for the dino pic I would say that if hes being shone upon by the sun then he needs some more hard light bouncing off the highlight areas... almost a glow... it needs to be a buit more contrasty...
I really like the flower pic except the pot seems skewed... but barely noticable. |

looks quite nice ! What I miss in the dinosaur picture is less monochromic coloring. Looks like the whole nature vegetation behind the dinosaur has just one green palette. Use different plants and different colors. also, the grass is green, but never the same tome and color, always small vartiations, som leafs are older, som with more dirt, etc....... and the same goes for the dinosaur. looks like he has just got washed, and his skin consist of one color. and, last the ambient tone in the dinosaur is "light" brown, while the ambient color in the background is "light" green, which makes it look like you've made them separate and then putten them together, or if you've made the picture in black & white forst and then just added separate color scheme for the dinosaur and the backgr. Think of everything as a whole, things affect eachother. And sublimal elements and colors to make it all more interessting.
I hope that was more than just a "hey yeah good work" message -but it looks good, do what I commented and it will become better, atleast that's what I think. Don't be too hung up on every little detail to be clean, but more to get the whole thing to work together, that will get a better effect than mucho amounts of deatails-and more fun to do. |
