Hey Craig, nice piece as usuall. I will say your figures have been getting better. "An hour a day for a week, working on the figure is better than 7 hours one day a week." I heard this many years ago, not that you need to hear it...I am just full of random quotes. You certainly seem to have the training to be a master at the figure in time. I hope you keep it up
I just wanted to know...why do people on the forum feel the need to defend Craig and others who post...too many people critique critiques...its ok to debate...but come on..post your comments, then leave it at that...
I am pretty sure that if Craig (or whoever posts) has something to say to someone who has made a wrong or un-intelligable comment, he will say something or ignore them. Too many damn people argue on this forum about stupid shit...argue on your own posts. Otherwise just let the poster take care of his own comments, we'll all get along much easier.
I think some people just wanna argue...oh well...to each his own.

milkman - heh, you are the biggest loser on this forum. All I hear from you is big talk. You are working on the biggest game in development blah blah. But all you can do is come on to others post and do lamness like gaussian blur to spooges repaint, blur a background on isrics painting, brightness and contrast to Skeezer paintings. If that isn't signs of a cluless guy I don't know what is. And you are still trying to say adding your blur to spooges to repaint was correcting his advice?? what a sad joker.
Also I saw your green monkey/werewolf/ whatever it was. Reminded me of of mongooses work when that prick finally posted his original work. Also you turned up pretty much the next month after humanclay was rumbled for being him. You have the same l am the bigman attitude, thinking your big time with your talk but never no action. You defended the guy who ripped everyones artwork (frosts, mickes, kyris) that mcsteed saved the links to.
I'm pretty much 99% sure your the next rendition of mongoose anyway, so whatever you have to say is just a joke to me. At least I draw, I don't pretend to be anything special. I like to be honest and speak my mind, if people have a problem with that then its not my fault. What is your point of coming here? You don't even draw or paint. You just like to play the big guy in your little dream world. heh, screw you. Anyway back to Jacobs Ladder and fuck wastigng my time with mongoose part 3.
To the other people worth my time, hay I don't want to argue here. But I feel I have defend myself and speak honestly, what I feel. Is this really so wrong?
milkman - I read your original message, don't try changing it now. I'm done wasting my time with you.

No problem at all, it was not unhappy at all. he still does it, in fact. "man, that shot you did on that movie thing, geez, you could see the duct tape and wires..."
Please do not hesitate to pipe up if you see something in the future, I really don't mind, and if it was something I had not considered, or solved a problem that was kicking my ass, all the better.
Maybe two things help me here-
1) I have had the worst kind of abuse from the art directors. The well-intentioned and useful critiques I get here are a warm bath compared to that. What a challenge to take those suggestions (which you have no choice-you have to) and still make something that does not suck. That takes... a professional
I had one guy not even think twice before telling me to make the clouds go behind the moon, to "well, you remember your basic design, don't you? I know you illustrators just slept through that one... overlapping shapes to make depth and all that, you know...)
On the other side, I have worked with some really GREAT art directors and Effect Supervisors from whom I have learned an immense amount, and enjoyed working with, and there suggestions were always pretty spot on.
2) I have done enough work and been successful enough at it that I would not take anyone’s critique to heart and doubt my overall ability.
I think people that get touchy about crits may not have had these experiences to help them put things in perspective. |
