I like it, Maya is an excellent 3D program, the only thing I don't like is that the fire seems awfulle off. I mean, that fire should be coming out of the side rockets since they are still attached to the actual shuttle. If not then the rockets are supposed to de-attach from the shuttle and fall down, and when that happens the fire comes from the ship's main engines.

Now, the way you place the fire, it looks like it's not coming out from either one. It looks like it's coming out of one of the 3 main engines. You absolutely have to fix it so there is a flame coming out of each one of the rockets to the sides and leave the ones in the middle alone until the gas tank and the rockets de-attack from the shuttle.

Oh man..you reminded me of a Maya class at a community college around here I took last year.. hehe, 5 weeks, two times a week, I didn't learn anything but the basic interface of that program. It's insane

Oh yeah, the image Looks great.. I see nothing wrong with it. I think that you should have the glowy in the back shedding more light on the ship. Just think about how it would really be. That light would be a lot brighter too (but then you wouldn't see the ship, and that would defeat the entire purpose.. heh.) You should post some images of the side/front views so we can get a a better idea of the model.

i think the launch bay is, much beter than the shuttle, and your school uses MAYA! woah, mine uses the 'cheapo FormZ' only good for dof efects. Anyway should look great animated, whats the polycount for the shuttle on it's own? and for the whole animation?

i like it, one thing you could add is the windshield of the ship.

when the shuttle lifts off, they dump a whole watertower full of water under the rockets, so that's why there is so much water vapor whenever you watch a launch.

no no it's a 3D program!! (were you joking?) It's crappy though, It's made by auto-des-sys, it's also American. I was just surprised that your school uses Maya, I wish mine did.s'all.
