TOOL!?

Tool and Beethoven....yes....

if you havent listened to tool before and you are into that "hard rock-like" thing, I highly suggest them, they have a totally unique sound...

Drums-Danny Carry= excellent
vocals-Maynard J. Keenan= excellent
lead guitar-Adam Jones= excellent
bass guitar-Justin Chancellor= excellent

i think the reason why all the shit is on top is because the shit gets the most hype and gets shoved down societies throughts and most of society isn't alive enough to realize its happening because they have grown numb to reality and doesn't realize the vast amount of talent is unknown,society is so chained to money to find out that the really good stuff is not the most hyped and not the most sponsered,whether it be aural or visual

thats why i think the internet will WAKE EVERBODY THE FUCK UP when it breaks the chains of all the corporate companies that are trying to control it WELL GUESS WHAT the internet stands for the educated masses and that is force that can't be stopped or controlled, not by any amount of money

mainstream tv and radio are pure evil and should be destroyed....now internet radio kicks ass imagine listening kick ass music with no advertisements (caution shameless plug ahead)
one of my favs is 3wk.com:underground radio,
and napster is only the first bullet to be loaded in the execution firing squad that is aimed at corporate companies

I didnt know linking park before but i saw a video of them as I hopped over the devil's channel (MTv). I actually liked the song.

I didnt make out the lyrics.. but most band's lyrics suck anyway so- well.

I like Limp Bizit/ Korn too but i don'
t have all their stuff or know it. Just about 1 album each. and yes, their lyrics suck as well.

now hate me.

Crazytown sucks more than the above 4.

Then again, pop music in general sucks.

Yeah sure they did steal a lot of their sounds from other groups, but they pull it off and sound great. They took the good parts of each group and put it together. And again they sound great. Whats the problem? I like them just because they sound good. I don't care what they claim to be or what they say in the songs. To me the singers are just another instrument in the band, so they could say whatever the hell they wanted to and it wouldnt matter. If it sounds good, go with it. Besides they're making money for something they enjoy doing arent they? And if other people like it then bonus!

i don't think ANY music sucks as bad as you guys are all putting it. the way i see it is, hell, they're making a bunch more money than me, the REST of society obviously must like them, and you have all heard of them and they're really famous. so, if you add that all up, chances are, they are good. or atleast sound good/appeal or whatever to everybody but you and your friends.

i think they sound kinda cool. limp bizkit kind of gets on my nerves, his voice, or whatever you call it, sounds soooo whiney and fucking annoying that it's hard to believe he's out there with the money and fans. i suppose that's what the rest of you are thinking about linkin park... well i don't know then. but it's like, the stuff you hardcore people are into, i don't know i just don't get it. what's so different about it compared to other music? does it have more meaning? does it have anything to do with what they say, or just the way it sounds, or how unique it is or what? so i picked up a copy of Soulfly and Fear Factory and some other crazy cd's a couple friends had and like... it's all like, "*&%*^% you man ARRGh&^*&^* i hate PEOPLE and *&%*^% %^$^&* hatred ^%$(^& i suck and am always angry ^%$$@@^*$# ffffuuuuuuuuarrrrrkkkkk blaggh [insert 10 more minutes of annoying jibberish/rants/death wishes] !!!" etc...

i don't think tool sucks either, i find his words in the end of the aenima cd really fun to think about and try to decipher it, even though it probably has no meaning. whatever.

my main point is: there IS a reason behind why linkin park/limp bizkit/korn etc are so rich, and it's NOT because they "suck".

bah, i hardly ever come on here anymore... if any of you out there get my drift, carry on, support it... just don't involve me.

SOulfly and Fearfactory aren�t hardcore, nor metal for that matter. They are just one little step above linkin park and korn.

Listen to real hardcore like Poisonthewell or Catharsis, you wont see them screaming FUCK HUMANS DEATH TO EVERYTHING!. Listen to real metal like Dark Tranquillity or Opeth, you wont see them playing 3-chord toddler riffs backed by shitty scratches.

Oh the reason Limp Bizkit and Korn are rich is because there is an immense fucking nation of whiney, 14-year-old, pot addict, badly raised, dumbfuck kiddos that we call american youth. In america, it sells to be tough and "heavy", but not too much or mom wont let you use her creditcard to buy that "people = shit" slipknot shirt.

yeah, soulfly definately isnt metal, and i wouldnt say its one step above linkin park, they are bolth pretty bad.

but fear factory on the other hand. i wouldnt consider it metal by today standards, but when they came out they were pretty much pioneers and were metal. their new stuff isn't very good though.

Personally i like stuff with orchestration. you cant go wrong with strings and a french horn!

Hey, im gonna see Fearfactory play tonight, but only cause i hope they�ll play oldies like Scumgrief and Self Bias Resistor. For old times sake. They also have Earthtone Nine as support, which is supposedly petty sweet.

what do you know, i made it back. well, thanks to all BUT faust for not judging ME and only my opinions...

anyways, just now i took 5 minutes of my time to download a few soulfly songs. so i downloaded the first 3 songs on the list -- Tribe, Pain, & No Hope no Fear. I had absolutely no clue what they sounded like or anything, and just to test my theory about them being all rant and bullshit annoying jibberish that faust so kindly disagreed with me on, i listened to them. "blahhhh!!!! Fuuuck meeee aggggh PAIN agggh FUCK! PAIN!!! PAIN!!! blaahhhhhh aggh FUCK ME!!" etc... that was the pain one, the Tribe one was too hard to translate. enough of that... moving on

so yeah, i'm glad you guys also think soulfly sucks. WHEW!!! saves me a lot of pressure knowing they're not hardcore or anything. well hey, introduce me to some of this "hardcore" stuff you guys so seem to know everything about. I know Spitfire mentioned a few so i guess i'll try them out, but there's more, i know... enlighten me

cannibal corpse is awesome, i got their cd a couple weeks ago. Cypress Hill, as Faust mentioned a while back is also great. i don't find them hardcore, or very much different then these other famous bands you all hate. oh well, it comes with 2 cd's so that kinda neat.

anyways hey, i apologize to all of you for mis-interpreting what i thought hardcore was and using soulfly or FF as an example, but i will not apologize to you, faustgfx, for hardly anything(yeah yeah, you don't care... don't reply then, because i DO care about you and when you always, always bring me down about anything, everything i say or whenever i state my opinions, it hurts because i'm only saying what i believe)

btw Giant Hampster i just checked out your pics(from the most recent "post your pics" thread) and found them supreme, ultimate, and genuinely hilarious(my parents found that out when i cracked up laughing at 11:30 P.M. at night hehe) also faustgfx, your pics kick ass and you should be in a movie

I don't know why s many of you punks are dissing linkin park. I personally think that the band is good. I agree that they are not the best ban, but you have to giver them some prop because the got where they are on their own unlike most boy bands. Also their lyrics are sick, if you don't live in a perfect world you will understand that. I come from a life in witch lots of their lyric's make sense. Any wayz every one is intitled to their own opinon I just wish that you would think before you speak.

Santa Rosa fucking sucks azelas. Drawing some sort of false correllation between lyrical sickness and a perfect life is absurd.

Furthermore, I am "intitled" to my own "opinon" "any wayz" and I think that Linkin Park sucks. So does Crazytown. So does Tool. So does Limp Bizkit. So does Korn.

Dillinger and Meshuggah kick ass. I am also quite fond of Dying Fetus.
