Just bought that fantastic music software a couple of days ago. Now I can stash away all my analogue synthesizers - holy crap that program kicks booty!
If anyone is interested getting into making music with the computer, check that software out.
Here's a track I did in an afternoon. Nothing special, but hey, it's fun!

HipHop Nonstop!

So how many times to they say hiphop in this song? Kinda cool loki... hehe, but I was flipping through screenshots of that program and it looked damn complicated. You may wanna try trackers.

reason has a good sound and it's quite easy to make good-sounding loops with it.

from my tracker background i prefer a quick, effective interface over a flashy, mouse driven, slow interface, so reason is not for me.. but if you're not spoiled by impulse tracker, well, it'S a nice way to start. shame it doesn't support vst.

Guys - I've tried everything. I started with trackers waayyy back in 1988, then went to a full Midi-studio and now I'm playing with reason.

Toylet: complicated? ever tried making a nice patch on a 1976 Roland System-100m, with patchcords?

wayfinder: Trackers are nice, but I've got a studio setup now, so I work a little bit differently - so I don't mind the interface!

Reason is one of the most fun pieces of software I've ever played with. Where did you get it Loki? Did you pay the full 400 dollars or go the Musician's Friend route and save 120 bucks?

Buttle: I got it for $299.- at West LA Music, after I told them I saw it for 299.- on the net (which was true btw ).

I love it!

Reason is reasonable, minus the price.

I agree, however, with the evil toilet, and must say that trackers are the way to go. Therefore, I would reccomend Buzz more, seeing as it can do everything that Reason does, with just a little more work, and it's free, with new machines added everyday.

Regardless, hardware is still the way to go. *drools at the $3200 Korg Keyboard in the window*

They sure did. But Rebirth is basically the 30 dollar version of a 400 dollar program (Reason).

Reason is a wonderful piece of software, but I wouldn't use it in a studio. For that Cubase VST is the (expensive!) way to go.
You can make real music with reason, but it's very limited. I made this tune with the sampler sounds it ships with.

i love buzz to it's soo funky

i masking taped a old headphone to a acustic gitar (it is a BIG headphone) and amped it through the wave in interface and made some really dodgie art noise

fasttracker2 refuses to work on my machine (win2kse) which is a shame becuase i would like to fiddle w/ it
