comments? The action is fine and the pose interesting. But your anatomy is way off! I would suggest leaving the colors for awhile and practice on anatomy alot. When your're done practicing then practice some more. Adding colors at this skill level will only make matters worse...

oh yeah. Those 4 stars on your artist rating just prove how stupid such a feature really is..

Boom: the shading is inverted on the stars (Dhab didn't have time to change it yet), so it's 5 - 4 stars. But yeah, the feature currently doesn't mean much, but will take form as people get more votes in for the individuals (of course, is the morality of it good? that's another topic=)

Frost - okay... Still think it's unnessecary. Things like that only take attention away from whats really important - the art!

Sorry stneil! Should have taken this discussion elsewhere...

Go and read Judges 13-16 for the story of samson.

Smiths Bible dictionary says this about hair:

quote:

The chief beauty of the hair consisted in curls, whether of a natural or an artificial character. With regard to the mode of dressing the hair, we have no very precise information; the terms used are of a general character, as of Jezebel, (2 Kings 9:30) and of Judith, ch. 10:3, and in the New Testament, (1 Timothy 2:9; 1 Peter 3:3) The arrangement of Samson’s hair into seven locks, or more properly braids, (Judges 16:13,19) involves the practice of plaiting, which was also familiar to the Egyptians and Greeks. The locks were probably kept in their place by a fillet, as in Egypt.

If you read the story you find that Samson was a fairly intelligent man. (Read about the riddle he asked) But like anybody might.. he got proud of Gods gift on his life and he messed up.

stneil, a word of advice:

If you want to avoid another public thrashing, you might want to change your signature to something less confrontational and ill-founded.

Honestly, that tagline makes you look like a twit-and-a-half.

I don't take it seriously at all . . . but it seems hypocritical for someone who says he wants to "make things right" to cast aspersions so recklessly.

Its his sig to with as he pleases, I'm just worried about what it could start.

::sigh:: Neil he isn't talking about your pic. He is talking about your SIGNATURE. You know this thing:

-------------
Right here, see? This thing? look familiar?

It's true your signature does make no sense. Your saying that in-depth science proves religion to be correct. When IN FACT it is the exact opposite.

study god a little bit, and you use the render effects>> clouds filter. Go in depth and you may become atheist.

Ok, neil look. This could be one of the reasons people have been so annoyed with you. Stop being so defensive! Your not always gonna be getting nice polite little comments, and the worst thing you can do is make yourself sound all superior (which IS exactly what your doing, wether you think so or not). Just take it in stride and if you have something intelligent to say in response then go ahead. But don't insult us with stuff like the above quote.

Aw c'mon and get over it. If we want to talk about God, we will create a band new thread, eh? I don't think anyone in this forum is a complete waste of DNA, so let's stop treating each other like it. Stneill-- try drawing the picture again, this time, don't use an filters or even line art. You will start noticing things you might not have seen before, and I promise it will help your art.
Good luck
Greg!

Your right, I shouldn't have carried the topic off base, and for that I apologize. I was a little angry when I wrote that response so sorry if it sounded bitchy. Neil, I mean this as advice so don't take offence. Sometimes you just seem a little quick to jump to the gun, thats all. Again, apologies.

Niel keep your sig. For one thing I aggree with it and another it is your right to put whatever you want there. What you put up is not offensive. It is not a racist comment
It is not a hateful statement of any kind.

Most everyone who has set out to learn and set out on a quest for knowledge has found God. This is a fact. It has happened many times. Most athiests that i know have become athiests for several reasons. Many being they were raised as athiests, they were christians at one time and didnt grow as christians so they gave up on Christ and figured they knew everything there was to know about God.

Another is they are so full of their own knowledge that they already have that they don';t bother to learn anymore. They just think they already know all about it and move on having missed the point.

He has just as much right to put something about science proving God as some of you other guys have of putting things like "So long, shitbird" not to insult someone who served my country. I have the utmost respect for a Marine Vet but you have something in my opinion to be much more offensive. Do i think you should change it because i think that it is more offensive than what others put? No absolutely not.

Thats just the way i feel about it. Everyone needs to stop being so sensitive and just letting people have and speak their beliefs.
And if you disaggree with the content just keep those comments to yourself. I mean I just posted something in the work in progress section and it happened to be an illustration about a Bible story and I wasnt' asking for anyones opinion of my story just my art and people always want to tell me they disaggree with my subject.

If someone says on the forum that they are a satanist I dont care i am just on here to look and judge the art work.

thanks

Yes, in retrospect I soppose that was a bit hypocritical of me. But I swear it's not my fault! It's the violent video games, they've warped my mind!
