Hola!

I've not used my wacom much for a while but I got a lot of inspiration from this place to pick it up again. Gecko and Janne's 500 project got me to address one of my biggest problems - time! I can spend forever on a pic.

Anyhow, these two quickies are my first ever while trying to keep the time factor to a minimum and just trying to get the basic colors and so on right.

Both done in Painter, about 40min each. The penguin pic I went back to and cleaned up a little bit so it took a little longer.

(used a ref for this one since i don't see penguins daily )

(no ref what so ever)

These are actually among my first ones done in Painter. Always used PS before but I find Painter to be faster and doesn't jagg curves drawn fast the same way as PS.
However, all the settings in Painter can be confusing to say the least!

Crits, comments?

Regards
.wakestarr.

Keep going, and yes, fix your weaknesses. Reference is good for situations like with the penguin, and you'll learn a lot especially if you don't copy the ref pic but change it to something totally different.

For the houseplant, go around your home and see what the light conditions are like, then come back and try to nail the right values.

And don't stop now.

Thanks for the input Gecko.

And yeah, I think ref pics should be used as a _reference_ only - not to copy...

I'm afraid I don't have any cool plants in my apartment. The few I have are all like dieing. I guess it's true that you have to give them water sometimes

Great to see you back in business again, knowing your lack of motivation.
I'm with Gecko on this one but I guess the years of doing graffiti shines through...
Keep it up!
