had to join the fight, felt the American's were under represented, considering we generally make up the bulk of Europe's fighting force anyway.

I expect lots of pot shots, so I sacraficed my heavy weapons for increased armor. hehe.

fire away. I'd moon you all, but there isn't a smilie butt face

Thanks Rinaldo for kicking my butt into gear.

P.S. Don't shoot the ignorant American

Very nice work indeed ! I have to admit that I was drawn to this thread more for the mech aspect than the art

I know you guys dont think that 3D modelling is in the same arena but it is all I am capable of

I have replaced the earlier image (480x360) with an 800x600 version with a few minor changes ... you can see the guns better now. But typical 3D rendering ... 10hours later & its still not what you wanted ;(

Frost: Thanks for answering.
Well, I'm not totally new to art. I'm drawing since I was a litle kid and I taught myself a lot. But I know, there are some things one can hardly learn by drawing without help. For Example: Perspective and anatomy. I know that. But I'm not asking for that, cause it would be too extensively and I don't think that I need those basics.
I'm asking for your technique of drawing. With what you start and so on. Not asking about basics.
And therefor it would be enough, if you save some steps from the beginning to the end. And maybe post em. People could ask precise questions then, if they didn't understood a step...
Some information bout lightning I won't deny though....

-Thanks-

El Caseron: These are old and embarassing. You'd better take a look at some REAL work like Craig Mullins from which I got my work methods from.

Gecko: Oh, I meant to say, thanks for the crits! You're right, she looks like crap. =) hehe

OK, so he's 3D, but he's a mech so it counts.

Here's my contribution (2nd mech, but I'm not posting the first one.. sucks so bad!). Highly inspired by all the other mechs, especially Catpain Plush Pardon !

Missiles don't really look like missiles, and those legs don't seem to be very stable and he might loose balance. =) Oh well!

I have only one thing to say to all of you: I have never been so inspired in my entire life. I'd love to participate but it takes me forever to make a decent pic (and even then they kind of suck )

My contribution...

The hulking soviet mech crushes the puney american mech under-foot. If you listen to your monitor closely, you can hear the american pilots crying like little girls... :c)

That should even things up a bit.
I spent way too long on this, and its still got problems....

Some of these other pics are great, keep it up...

p.s. If you don't like squished americans, better draw some re-enforcements.

The finnish front was awfully quiet and Faust's phallic missile was nowhere to be seen.

Perhaps this awfully fast drawn, but suicidal mech could turn the tide of the war all by itself.

Or maybe not
