Very nice Rachel,
The lighting and mood is really good, but the reaper character blends to much into the background, its difficult to see what's going on in the pic.
The skull is a nice touch

very nice! I love the mood and rendering.
Only thing I was wondering about was: what is that solid area right in front of his stomache? A tombstone?

it's well done, but i'm not used to having to up the brightness of my monitor to make out an image Maybe it could be just a wee lil tiny bit brighter in certain areas...
it does, however, make very good use of subtle (extremely subtle) lighting changes.

I really love this background... ! My only drawback would be that the figure is way too small and seems to inhabit the bakground :/ rather than being part of the subject of the painting.. Bigger, with a ghostlike appearance ? Anyway, I really dig this symetric background of yours ! *bravo*
